All you gotta do is operate that touch-screen register with the pictures of the food on it. You don't even need to be literate!

In some parts of America, even McDonald's won't hire you these days with the current state of the economy. And, in fact, if you appear to be a bit too intelligent during interviews for low-level retail and/or customer service positions, they won't want you.

Well, I'm sure common knowledge is that many less intelligent persons are employed with McDonald's, but what I was trying to get at was that if you possess much of any intelligence, they will reject your application, making you unable to even get a lowly job at your local McDonald's. Your sarcasm was unappreciated for not looking at the issue properly.

Not studying is for fools.
Even if you're not going to college, you gotta be preparing for your career, man. There are successful people without college degrees, but that's because they worked their asses off and developed special skills without a university environment.
As someone who landed a degree and still struggles to pay the bills doing manual labor, I encourage you to give a shit about your future.

Failed? Not necessarily. In the United States, many who have acquired degrees (and even degrees that require higher technical knowledge like engineering) are having trouble finding a job after graduation. At the very least, he attended college/university, followed through, and graduated. That's a feat on its own. Look at much of the population around Los Angeles... many of them practically think education, in any form, is unacceptable. I'm definitely gonna go with the guy who tried succeeded in something, at bare minimum, and has the potential for much more.

When schools starts (Monday, August 27 for me), studying is for fools who want to acquire a degree to get a decent job in life considering a high school diploma is becoming worthless and the new minimum prerequisite is becoming a bachelor's degree. Which means, to differentiate yourself as above the norm, a minimum of a master's will be required and lower jobs that previously required only a diploma will require certification, if you will, by an accredited four-year university.
