So, work now blocks the Steam website. I can get to it through a proxy, but I can't log in. This is quite disconcerting as the Summer Sale is around the corner. What do they expect me to do at work if I can't get to the Steam website?

Thank goodness Steamgifts isn't blocked.

In the current economy not everyone can switch jobs or have their dream job. Sometimes you have to work to pay the bills and the work isn't that meaningful, important or profound. Some employers, like my last one, are evil bastards who like to grind people down for no reason other than to make themselves look good and to come in under some magical line so that they get bonuses while knowingly screwing every single one of their non-managerial employees. They actually wrote every single non-managerial employee a mediocre (or lower) review regardless of their actual level of competency or productivity just to avoid giving out too much money in raises.

So, no, not every employer deserves a dedicated, loyal, hardworking employee. Not to mention that work isn't supposed to be a concentration camp. If someone wants to goof off a little, it's not really hurting anything and can definitely improve morale - and therefore productivity. So hush, you self-righteous people, you can't know everyone's situation and what's right for you isn't right for everyone. Either answer the question or move on.
