i approve, since many people posting here seem like they didn't even read your post you shouldn't care if they call it useless. i can see that it might be useful for rule-guided giveaways (for example: tell me a fucking joke or i re-roll), that's cool.

The source code will be public when the GUI will be finish, so everyone can have it (if they want).
I will also add some suggestions given here (hide thanks, show only comments with a link, shorter than a predefined length, etc.).
When the website is finish, I will make a JavaScript version to permit people to use it on group giveaway too :)

There's really no point in saying thank you before you even get something in return. I don't expect anybody who enters my giveaways to go thank you, before they win or after. It's just a nice tack on that I enjoy. 50 times out of ten they always say thank you after so who cares? A blacklist for GIFTS? That follows the literal definition of scumbag.

Some of those who thank before winning do so because they're grateful for the opportunity. If you, and many others, wouldn't have created a giveaway then SteamGifts would have been a pretty barren site. Those who think this way don't take for granted what you and many others did.
However, I completely agree with you that it's wrong to blacklist those who don't thank, because it's not the right way to look at it.

So long as people understand the requirements for having special rules in their giveaways. Extraneous/special rules for giveaways require moderator approval. Public giveaways cannot have any special rules.

It is kind of like opening Pandora's box but, if you can keep your cool, it's a great way at pin-pointing some seriously disgusting leechers.
I'm careful at discriminating, since I know that some can't afford to contribute to SteamGifts, but when you see someone who's been registered to SG for 1 year, won 7 games, made only 15 comments, gave nothing back and owns many games (some of which are seriously expensive AAA titles)... well... there's no excuse.

Trust me, the two/three users I've verified wouldn't even thank you after winning. Hell, they wouldn't even bother playing the game they won from you. I know what I'm saying.
As I already said in my previous post, I'm very careful at discriminating. I'm not too fond of the term "leecher", but under extreme circumstances there's no other way to call them. Of course, they're not forced to giveaway anything if they don't feel inclined to and I judge them by that exact behavior: They're spontaneously not generous, they freely chose to be that way and, consequently, they should take responsibility for their actions by accepting the fact that they will be discriminated against. If I'm a douchebag, I can't force people to not think that I am one.
I can barely afford to buy games for myself, but I bothered to give some of the love back during the summer sale (and I also did so before winning something on SG, iirc) because I knew it was the right thing to do, and I will continue to do so.
I give away for the joy of knowing that whoever will win it will enjoy it because, when I was younger, I didn't have this opportunity: I used to simply stare in front of a video game store and imagine how playing that game would've been like when I got back home. There was no youtube to watch Let's Plays from back then, and the only way to know more about the games you liked was to pay for a monthly magazine and play the demo CDs.

I agree so fucking much. I made a giveaway a while back and the winner had won 17 games, 0 comments and didn't contribute at all.

Yet again, the sensitive topic of thanking in giveaways is touched, and to everyone's great surprise, people really do have opinions that differ from each other. People who write similar thanking messages in every giveaway, people who write something else than thanks and people who write nothing at all are all equal on this site. As long as guidelines do not force you to thank on entry or forbid you to thank in comments, both should be alright and left for each member to decide how to act.

So true, this tools (like I say before) is for people who make giveaways and precise in the description that they want something write in the comment. This may surprise you, but some gifters put this rule in private giveaway, and ban list people who don't comment like they ask for their next giveaways.
Me, and you, we are not here to judge what people do, if gifter write something in theirs description is normal to read it and to try to do what they ask …

It's just a BETA, the tool will still be update (with your suggestions), so far:
If people don't want to use it, it's fine, I've free time, I've see some private gifter who ask to post something, and I imagine this tool.
Simple as that, just a tool for some private gifter, not a tool to ban people who don’t post "Thanks" in public giveaway (like many seems to believe).

The last week I've created a tool which gives you the names of the guys that didn't comment on your giveaway.
The tool works for all the giveaways except the group ones.
At the moment, it is pretty ugly(plain text), but the next week I'm going to create a GUI for it. Link: SG-Comments - BETA (Change the name since there are many confusions but it's still code name)
Your giveaway's url is not saved so don’t be afraid to test it on your private giveaways.
If you want you can launch it at the end before sending the gift, this way you'll know if the winner has commented.
Things to do:
Bug reports and suggestions should come to me, you can e-mail them from the site.
