Bulletstorm!
Funny, good story and great gameplay... and not enough sales to make them develop Bulletstorm 2 :'(

Really? Should I give this another chance? I didn't make it more than 15 minutes on the first go-round. The groan-worthy dialogue and over the top ma-"cheese"-mo came across completely sideways, after a few minutes of clunking around clumsily I was already firing up CS Source.

well, the gameplays IS awesome, all of the numbers glowing on the screen always nice. i don't remeber very well, but the first level have almost nothing to do with the rest of the game, the fun beggins when you get the laser-hook thing, and enemies stars fliying all over the place.
give it another chance.
sorry for the crappy english, i'm in a rush, and have no time to make corrections....

If you want to find out why a pretty girl wants to kill your dick, you have to play it. :P

Dark Messiah was one of my greatest gaming disappointments. The demo for the game was superior to the actual product in almost every way.

I really loved Titan Quest, but it rarely gets mentioned anywhere. It had some issues with bugs, as did the expansion, but Titan Quest Gold (with the fan-patch and use of TQVault) is an outstanding dungeon crawler. It has an absurd amount of loot, tons of voice-over work and a variety of locations with a diverse skill tree. The expansion adds a lot of features to the game, so I'd highly recommend playing it complete (TQ + TQ: Immortal Throne + fan-patch).

I bought it on release. Loved it.. sadly now my copy sits in a box collecting dust :( Wonder if its even possible to still get it patched and play?

I played that on GameTap ( when I used to subscribe to it a long time ago. ) Was fairly fun. Though I can kinda see why it did not do soo well.
If they did a little more marketing they might have done a little better though.

+1. I got that game for two bucks on GOG and it was so worth it. The atmosphere gives me goosebumps.

Hardwar! With a flightstick this game was great when I was younger :)
I don't know of anyone else who have played it. Random lets play of the game

Hidden Gem as far as Steam goes...
Could I nominate The Last Remnant? If I remember correctly it did not do that well. However so far that I have played.. I really love the game! Not sure if it would be possible for another one to be made ( sequel ) since I have not fully beaten it yet.. but so far I like it enough that I would buy a sequel with no problems :P
As for older games.
Masters of Monsters on the Sega Genesis. Turn based stratagy game where you select a "Master" and summon various monsters to try to kill the other masters. Was quite fun. The AI in the campaign cheated big time though lol. They had special monsters only they could summon.. the bastards :P
I almost want to say Shining Force 1&2 but both actually did fairly well back then. I can not say anything about the third since only 1/3rd of the game was released outside of Japan and I have never got to play the full game :(
Not sure if the STALKER games could be considered underrated or not.. but I think they are great games and are worthy of a mention :P Especially with the mods that make the games look even better. ( Keep in mind, I do not own, nor have I played Clear Sky )
Could probably think of a bunch more... but this comment is already getting a bit too big :P

I remember Hidden & Dangeorous was left aside pretty roughly back when it was released, however i had no internet at the time, so i can't really say how well known it was.
This may be extremely biased, but i remember Evolva being such a big hit for me when it was out as well.
Giants: Citizen Kabuto.
Vampire Redemption and Bloodlines (Bloodlines was quite known though)

I didn't care for the first Hidden & Dangerous game, but H&D2 and the Sabre Squadron expansion are in my top 10 best games of all time. I describe it as Rainbow Six set in WW2. Despite most of my friends being Rainbow Six fans, I couldn't get a single one of them to try H&D2. I really wish GOG or some other digital distributor could get the rights to sell it. I still have my disks, but I would still buy a digital copy if it were available (preferably DRM free).

Is it possible to play GCK multiplayer using a Hamachi/LAN setup? I know you can use Hamachi with a lot of older games.

I dunno if it counts as really overlooked but the Treasure Adventure Game remake (http://treasureadventureworld.com/) hasn't even hit 5 grand so far and it looks amazing

Omikron the nomad soul. I can't remember it being very popular, though I may be wrong. It's a great game from Quantic Dreams and the fact that it features David bowie in the soundtrack AND as a character should be a big selling point alone.

The way you keep changing bodies was a really neat mechanic. And the fact that it jumps between 2D fighter, FPS and 3d-person adventure game. It had a lot going for it. I never did beat it, because my save had far too little ammo to kill the final boss. It still haunts me to this day.

I just bought this one on GOG, yesterday, for 60% off. I haven't had a chance to try it, yet, but I've been wanting to play it since it first came out.

OK, let's think....
can't think of more right now ;)

"Startopia" without a doubt. Themepark-style management game, but on a donut-shaped space-station with good humour and addictive gameplay. One of my highest rated all-time games.
"Severence : Blade of Darkness" (going under just "Blade of Darkness" on GOG). This is basically the Demons/Dark Souls of the previous era. Sure the graphics didn't age so well, but that lighting system is still delicious and still a solid adventure if you have a hunger for games with good difficulty.
"Sacrifice", an RTS game played from the ground floor, as a commander running about partaking in combat himself, who also happens to be a mage. This one has a hellish difficulty curve and can be pretty vexing until you come to terms with how important the struggle for enemy/allied souls is, but it was a rewarding experience with the kind of kooky characters you'd expect of Shiny.
That's my "Power S-3". I will never forget them <3

I never cease to mention Fragile Allegiance in these types of threads, and only one person has ever replied, acknowledging that they know of that game. very sad really, as it was and still is an amazing 4x strategy game.
Thought of another; Recoil -- Videogamegeek page --- youtube video
play as a tank driver fighting a guerrilla war against a network corporation that has enslaved humanity plain and simple third person tank shooter with some slight terrain deformation gameplay from explosives its sort of in the same vein as Duke Nukem 3D but better imo.

This game which is named War Inc, but is different than the new war inc.
This one was a real time strategy, with a business/company management side. You could invest in the stock market and by owning a majority in companies, you got new technology. There were offensive and defensive maps (the AI would attach your established bases). However, one of the best parts was the instruction manual. It looked like boring business notes that someone had gone back through and doodled in. They were pretty funny. Brilliant game, I wish it would still play.

Original War? You mean the one in Bohemia's store? Huh...I was thinking of getting that, actually (gog.com is slightly cheaper, though).
I'd have to say...errr...Killing Floor isn't exactly HIDDEN, but it barely has even people playing it as it should. Hmmm...I suppose FTL counts.
FTL: Faster than Light, then.

The 3 Tex Murphy games that came out on CD-Rom in the 90s. FMV at its finest. They're all on GOG. Great mix of sci-fi, hard-boiled detective, and humor. Can't wait for the new one.

As the title states, I wanted to ask around a little who here knows some hidden game gems that are unknown.
I personally, contribute to this "list" (?) this game.
It is so unknown, that at the end of it's life I bought the boxed version at a German retailer for a euro.
It is a great RTS game. I returned to it after some years and a new 40€ expensive copy, started making a custom campaign for it (it has an editor with the "SAIL" programming language, which is essentially Pascal, since the game was programmed in delphi (I also know Delphi! Mahou right?).
Anyone who likes RTS should check it out.
Is there anyone who has the same feeling about some other game?
