There are some seemingly legit people who actually activated the game, and are giving it away here now.

BTW, those massive GAs are different, I know. So what happens if there are people who ignores it and don't mark it as received after a week, is there a reroll? Or the keys will be in the limbo forever?

Well, it's automatically marked as received.

Well, I kind of have an idea how they do it - I mean winning in mass giveaway, activating it on their account and yet giving the same game away hours after the developer mass giveaway finished, and as far as I know it can get them permanent ban

P.S. if any1 didn't get my idea - it has to do with people creating several accounts

Take a look at this: http://steamcharts.com/app/269890#7d

Thousands of people too busy with multi-accounts and regifting, I guess.

Regifters are assholes. And coming from an asshole, that says something. They give us legitimate assholes a bad name.

Had someone offer me a copy since I wanted it more than them. Turned it down because they won it here. Even if they were willing to break the rules for me, it was still breaking the rules.

I was tempted though.

Yup, it's rather sad when you see how many are being regifted/traded when you and a bunch of other people who were genuinely interested have missed out on it. :/

Ah well, that's life.

Some of the guys who re-gift have been on this site for over 2 years. They perfectly know the rules. Some re-gift for 2th or 3rd time. Yet there'll be banned for a day or two. Maybe five. Why won't they ban them forever? It just makes support work more because they'll just keep doing it again and again. Why not ban them permanently? Every time I'm asking this no one can answer me properly. Because there's no reasonable answer for that. Implement perm-ban already.

Looking at my support tickets, I have reports for the same people more than once of different re-gifts. I can understand that some people do it once because they don't understand the rules. A suspension of some number of days is fine in those cases. However, when it happen a second times it should be a perma-ban as those people clearly didn't learn anything..

maybe permanent ban for single re-gifting is too much but as far as I know next version of SG has some kind of blacklist/whitelist system so my idea is - if someone wins a mass giveaway by a developer and attempts to re-gift the game - the system/support blacklist this user for next several mass giveaways from developer (let's say he wouldn't be able to enter in next 3 giveaways with more 50 copies); he breaks the rules 2nd time? Blacklist this user for the next 6(?) mass giveaways from developers and so on.

Permaban for repeat "regifters" is ok and positive for the community, I think.

I have a question, if one was to win one of these re-gifts, would it be wrong or against the rules to mark as not received? You do receive the actual game but its not really from that person.

As someone not part of Support, I say feel free to, it will be removed as soon as Support gets around to it anyway.

....so should I be entering these for another chance at the game, or is that against the rules :(

I remember seeing bobofatt saying that they were going to delete the giveaways after people re-gifted them so people that wanted them would actually get them. I just never knew if it was alright to mark as not received in the time being but I guess its not going to really matter.

oh thanks, wow this feels nice, I have another chance and the person who is regifting doesn't know what's coming to them because most people who brake the rules don't come into the forums

If you win the game you activate it, and you can mark as received, but it's not really important because giveaway gonna be deleted anyways before you can mark as not received.

At least the majority of the ones who regift here don't know they can't do this, because the worst regifters are the "smart" ones, who know they can't do this but still do, regifting in other sites Gameminer, Galagiveaways, Steamcompanion, etc.

And others receive the game like one of our "friends" who was insulting ppl here and asking for card donations for "charity", play it and go to the Steam forums of the game to insult the devs on how bad the game seemed to him.

lol you went from talking about regifters, to brining up some random act of our "friend" Unless you were trying to say your disappointed people like him win it too?

I was thinking what is worse, at least to some regifters you can add them to Steam and explain that they cannot regift and they won't be rude, and will delete the giveaway and activate game in their account. If someone is not lazy he can add these guys who regift gifts here, so support won't have to deal with it.

on another note, I don't have quite the stalkerish skills to find our "friend"'s rant as you have, and I now there is no calling out but perhaps you could send me a link of this on my profile? I'm curious as to what kind of things he has said considering his manner of speakin in the forums :o

The thread got deleted from steam forums, only devs can do this, he called them pervs, and complained about more things, instead of thanking for winning it like others, not really that bad compared to the manner of speaking in forums.

darn, I was actually thinking something was wrong with me. Even after being shown where to look I still couldn't find it, but deletion clears it up....though I don't get to see the .....originality? of it....

Also.....wow our "friend" also replied to one of my threads with a calm and serious answer. I thought maybe he got mad in those few threads, but if he goes out of his way to troll other places then I just have no idea how to explain to myself his actions....unless...multiple personality disorder or something?

I know re-gifting is against the rules. But I honestly hope I get one of them because I do want this game and plan to play it. I do like what Greg Rucka writes for comics and want to see and experience his story in this game.

Can't agree more, I feel the same way. It would've been great if those people hadn't entered in the first place. What's the point of entering a giveaway if you aren't going to play it if you win? I don't really get that.

Pretty obvious really. They want to increase their contribution value so as to enter giveaways they wouldn't otherwise have been able to enter.

Just keep reporting them. Hopefully the guys here at SG will see sense to ban these idiots permanently. I actually went out of my way to buy a copy of Deponia: The Complete Journey to put up on here ages ago but after the recent influx of regifters regifting the giveaways with tens of thousands of copies, the mere thought of my hard earned cash going to some idiot with total disregard for the rules and for the generosity of others put me right off.

It really disappoints me when people either re-gift on here from either a mass giveaway or just a regular giveaway in general. I was fortunate enough to Win Sins of the dark Age and AR-K and i dont see why people would re-gift something that was never truly theirs in the first place. What pisses me off most is when im on steam trades and i see those same games on someones trade thread and they obviously said i won these. Not only are people dumb about this kind of thing they are arrogant and only think about how they can get ahead by taking a chance to win from someone else
