1. What was the first system (console or PC) you bought with your own money?
Whether you used your hard-earned paycheck or saved-up allowance... If you haven't bought anything with your own money yet, what do you want to purchase when you're able?

Optional:

  1. First system your parent(s) bought for you.
  2. Specs of first PC that you bought with your own money

Mine:

  1. PSX
  2. NES
  3. Pentium 3, 1.x GHz w/ an Nvidia FX 5500 (i think - it was crappy)

-edit-
love reading these, btw.
especially all the little stories and the surprisingly wide age range of the users.

I'm pretty sure I bought my PS1 myself at Funcoland by trading in a bunch of games and my SNES, stupidly those games included Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy III(6), Secret of Mana, and probably a few more classics. I should have just waited for my bday or xmas and asked my parents to get it, but I was seriously obsessed with getting FF7 and FF tactics.

First system my parents bought me: Sega Genesis

The first PC I bought myself is my current one, which originally belonged to my brother and was built by him.
at the time of purchase it had:
Gpu - 570 GTX Cpu - i5-2500k @ 3.3GHz Memory - 24GB (8 of which apparently he was just letting me borrow and took back about a year ago) HDD 400GB (some shitty hard drive which was soon replaced)

First actual thing I bought was when I was like 14, I worked for a full month at a difficult phyisical job, 8-12 hours daily, just to get enough money for a good PC.

Bought a Wii years ago, the first and only console I ever bought(owned a NES when I was a kid though) and since then gave it away to the less fortunate since I stopped playing it once I got a new good PC that could easily emulate Wii games. Next system I'm planning to buy is the Wii U once I have the spare money, since there are plenty of games there I really want to play.

I bought my PS2 on release with my allowance, I manages to collect the money in just one year through birthday and christmas presents etc etc.

Then my parents bought me a PS3 2 or 1 year after the official release ( I don't remember lol xD). They also bought me a NDS light for a reason POKEMON ALL DAY LONG YEAAAAAAAH!

After a year or two i managed to buy my own PC, I still use that PC and yes it's crappy, now I am working to build my own.

cheers xD
