The Steam Deck has helped me to play more games. It's easier for me to pick it when I have some spare time than to play on the pc (where I mostly do work). I wish I had more time to experiment with it (adding launchers for other platforms like Epic, GOG, Uplay,... and retroemulation).

Request to join the group. Heroic launcher is the easiest to add and it does Epic, Amazon, and GOG. Go to Desktop Mode, click the Discover store, and search for Heroic Games Launcher. Click Install, wait for it to finish. Open it up and log into your accounts. Heroic has an option to automatically add the game to Steam Game Mode/Launcher.

For me, the PS Vita was the system that made me realize how much of a game changer a good suspend-feature actually is.
It always saddened me that there was no perspective of handheld gaming PCs getting a feature like that anytime soon, because Microsoft didn´t care and nobody would be going thorugh the troubles of making a special OS just for this little niche-market... and then, out of nowhere, came Valve and did exactly that 😀

Cool group. As for my items - I have public profile and I believe the Steamdeck keyboards should be there. Hope you can see them in order to aprove me. Sent the request.
As for games - I mainly use steamdeck to finally catch up on my backlog. Just finished Enslaved: Odyssey to the west. Been playing some bit more games I like - Long Dark, GTA5, Skyrim, Subnautica. And pretty much downloading most games I havent played yet to try out while sitting at TV. Racing games are good to play - WRC8, TT Isle of man, DRIFT CE. I really did enjoy Death Stranding. Finished that solely on the deck.

Should be set to public now. Turns out it was set for friends only

Currently playing Wildermyth on it, runs perfectly and it's very entertaining! Horizon Zero Dawn also played quite nicely (not always 30+ fps, but still great for handheld, imho), although I highly doubt next chapter will be playable on it :D

Don´t forget that Forbidden West was also released for PS4 and looked and performed well on that system. So I have high hopes for it to run well on the Deck.

I´m madly in love with my Steam Deck ^^
I always enjoyed mobile gaming. I started with the "Game and Watch"-type LCD-Games, followed by the original Gameboy in 1990, Gameboy Advance, Nintendo DS, PSP, GPD Win, PS Vita, Switch and finally the perfect system I´ve always been dreaming of: The Steam Deck 😀
I was lucky enough to get the 512GB Deck at the very beginning (second batch of deliveries, when they finally started sending them out) and now upgraded to 1TB OLED.
I own a descent gaming PC, Xbox Series X and an OLED Switch, but I´d say I´ve been spending ~70% of my gaming time over the last 1,5 years on the Deck. Right now I´m mostly busy with Assassins Creed Valhalla, Stray, Resident Evil 2 Remake, Persona 5 and Dave the Diver.
I added an item-showcase to my profile and would be happy to join.
Cheers!

I mostly used mine for BG3 so far, it got pretty choppy later on but still less issues than I was having on my PC. I also played through Aperture Desk Job which was underwhelming, and a bit of Dead Space and Praey for the Gods, both of which seemed to run well.

I love my Steam Deck. It's important for me to have something fun to do while out on my many trips to the doctor and whatnot, and my Steam Deck delivers. The Binding of Isaac Repentance is incredible on it. It plays like a dream, with no issues whatsoever. I couldn't ask for a better game on the go. I also recently bought Brotato and Vampire Survivors for it.
Thank you for the group! I have Deck-compatible games I'd love to give away to those who have one, and I'd also love to win a little something to play on the go. Cheers!

I use it for travel or when I'm on vacation which makes it convenient so I don't have to bring a a gaming laptop with me, but the battery doesn't hold me long so that's a bit of a drawback. I think the most relaxing experience I've played on it for me was Abzu on a plane with the lights off. Also tried One Piece World Seeker but I guess I'm blind because there was so much going on and things were small so navigating the menus was hard.
Edit: Forgot to mention but changed my avatar frame to the steam deck one, lmk if that's enough if not my inventory is public with all the items.

Hi. Have requested to join. My deck is getting me into gaming more than I have ever been (currently playing Myst - for the first time - I know I'm late), but also given me a newfound appreciation for Linux systems, to the point where I think I will opt for Linux for personal use from now on

I dabbled a bit in Linux every now and then over the past few decades, but gaming always dragged me back to Windows. Before the Steam Deck, I had no idea how much has actually changed in that regard!
DOS and Windows 7 were the only two Microsoft OS I actually liked. Allthough Windows 10 brought some nice improvements, overall it still feels like a downgrade and now I´m in the same position as you, pondering if I´m gonna make the switch to Linux.
The Deck really is a special product... it keeps getting better and better the more you get to know it an really opens new horizons. I´m a 41 year old nerd, been using computers since I was four and the Deck might be the greatest piece of harware I bought in my whole life. The only comparisons I can think of in terms of "life changing experience" was adding my first HDD to the Amiga and buying my first 56k-Modem ^^

If the fan noise is bothering you, a good way to controll it is to lower the TDP and adjust the game settings accordingly. I found most of the more demanding games to run and look well enough at 12 watts TDP, where the fan noise on the LCD Steam Deck is still noticable, but didn´t bother me. The OLED Deck however makes even less noise at 15 watts.
All according to your personal tastes.

mortal kombat 9 requires some proton use but runs pretty decently. the last boss is absolutely stupid difficult though.

I'm trying to finish Max Payne 3 on Deck. Unfortunately there were no cloud saves back in the day so I had to restart from the beginning. Fun game tho. Highly recommend it especially if you're like me and don't have a PC. The only other way of playing it is on PS3 or Xbox 360 but that's not really pleasant.

Really like the idea. I love so much the Steam Deck, it's a game changer for me.
A few of the games that I finished and enjoyed on the Deck:
Days Gone, Horizon Zero Dawn, L.A. Noire, GTA IV, Arise: A Simple Story, Just Cause 3 & 4, Lorelai, Lost Words: Beyond the Page, Resident Evil - 2 - 3 - Remake, Call of Cthulhu, Tinykin, some Assassin's Creed titles
Ps: My inventory is public

"Gifts On Deck" has a strong emphasis on gifting games that can be played and are enjoyable on the Steam Deck. Exclusive only to members of a profile that has purchased a Steam Deck.
To join:
When you buy a Steam Deck, you can claim rewards on your account. Before requesting to join, display those "untradable steam deck items" that you received when claiming. The items must be on your profile/item showcase at the time you request to join (or in your inventory if you've made it public). Leave the items on your profile at least until I have verified and added you to the group. [If you haven't claimed your rewards, click on your avatar in the top right and you'll see it in the menu.]
Post a comment below about your steam deck (a favorite game or what you're currently playing, etc). I will reply to your comment when you've been accepted. I will no longer accept any requests to join the group without a comment in this thread.
New Rule: Do not go beyond a -$200 group ratio. (This is to prevent full blown leeching)
