As explained in the FAQ, the 'P' at the top of the screen shows you how many Ponies you have at present. You will need to trade Ponies in order to enter giveaways.

Over time (especially when you're not watching), your Ponies will breed. New giveaways make them frisky, you see. Leave them overnight, and chances are you will come back to a whole stable-full. Your stable can only hold 300 Ponies at a time, at which point there's no more room for them to get jiggy. If you let some of them go, then the good times will start rolling again.

P stands for Points. You keep getting points because people are creating giveaways. You use this points to enter giveaways. Example: Call of Duty Ghosts (60P) -> It means you need 60 points to enter the giveaway.

Actually P is 3.14....( continiuous ) , Here you got to see P ( 3.14 ) x Number in front of P , so 25 x P = 78.54 Something. Because noone wants huge weird number , they just let it be (insert number)P . Do the math yourself. I think the number means how many SteamGifters had sexual intercourse , so usually over night it builds up alot ( points I mean )....

'p' is short for pretty, for examplae: p sure, p retarded, p deece, etc.
