Are you getting annoyed by the obviously manufactured 'Thank you' on every single giveaway, which has been written the same way?
I'm so confused by that... Did he misunderstand what a capybara was? Was he thinking you were trying to trick him into posting pictures of something salacious? Did he have some fear of large rodents?
Personally, I can never decide whether they're cute or hideous. They look like a freakish mouse grew to a massive size, was ostracized by his kin, so he wandered the world, trying to find someone to accept him, until he came across a near-sighted beaver and they made sexy time.

What I wrote in the description was:
Do not write "thanks" or any other similar generic things. This game is apparently terrible, so "thanks" is not even appropriate. Instead, post a picture of a capybara
To which he replied:
THANKS!!! people like you go on my blacklist. people should be allowed to say thank you lol.... retarded people these days xD ...
But it's almost a bit quaint when someone who does not do many GAs, and who's GAs mostly consists of bundles games threaten to blacklist you.

I still know the guy named James! It's me!
Don't get the wrong idea. My name isn't actually James... or is it?

I hope those that host giveaways that I don't give thanks for ( I tend only to comment if asked, or I have something else worthwhile to say), don't think that I'm NOT thankful for the opportunity to win, because I always very much am. I'm just not one to say something if I have nothing new to contribute (I even debated whether it was worthwhile to comment here, as I'm not adding much to the conversation, but justified it since you are looking for varied opinions, and those tend to overlap, AAHHHH WHAT IS WRONG WITH MY BRAIIIN!). Of course if I was to win a giveaway, the giver would be showered in everlasting gratitude from me. =)

I tend to enter giveaways in bunches, which could probably look like I'm using a macro, although I really try to avoid commenting in more than one of them at a time (assuming multiple from the same user). I use the Lazarus Chrome add-on (holdover from the days of terrible Steamgifts instability), so it makes it easy to post my gif of gratitude for the day.

I don't think it matters because nomatter what you do someone will blacklist you for it. If you don't say thank you blacklist, if you say thank you blacklist. So sum upp all roads evenetionaly lead to blacklistville. I know people who won't even talk openly in forums because that --> blacklists.
The function is overused.

That can be true, but I don't think there are that many people that would bother to blacklist everyone and at the same time, I don't think that everyone is really a major dick about it. Could be wrong though, since I can't see how many people have blacklisted me. Especially for this post :P

I know but people could sometimes use some empathy. Imagine that you would say that you are sick and tires of something and people would start to reply to you with that, qithout any comments. I can't treat it any other than some troll attemp ;/

I don't mind at all. Why should I get annoyed for a person being thankful?
You don't have a way to know if that person is a bot. He might be just doing copy/paste with what he thought was a good way to thank the person who created the GA.
I NEVER blacklist users for saying thanks (or any variation).
People are just too easily annoyed and offended. If you are giving something, obviously some users will be thankful and want to show it.
Also, "thank you" is a acknowledgement of your gesture. I like receiving a "thank you" from time to time. It shows the user is just not entering random GAs and that he cares.
My 2 cents though.
EDIT: However, I'm getting annoyed for all the users who need to create threads saying that they don't like "thanks" on their GAs. We get it, just put something in the description.

Ok, I get what you mean here, but let me answer with this:
Conclusion: Don't come in here passive-aggressively attacking me and sassing me! If you think this is not a problem, say so. Don't put in an edit, stating that we are annoying for not liking spam and people giving fake 'Thank you's. Literally look at the comment above, and say that that person meant to say any of the 'Thank you's in good spirit.

I was not attacking anyone nor being passive-agressive (or being sassy). Please read again what I wrote. I have explained myself.
"However, I'm getting annoyed for all the users who need to create threads saying that they don't like "thanks" on their GAs. We get it, just put something in the description."
^I meant what I said.
W/ your reply, I can also see you are not capable of understanding what I wrote.

How hypocritical. Who is the one being aggressive?
EDIT: There are threads about this. Instead of creating a new one, use the others

Yes, I know I was being aggressive. I admit that I was perhaps too aggressive, but don't pretend that a strawberry is a blueberry. You were being aggressive. You put in the comment, but you came back for more, leaving a taste of aggression. This is psychology 101. Again, I can see how you're being passive-aggressive: "I can also see how you are NOT CAPABLE OF UNDERSTANDING what I wrote." You are kidding me right? That is not aggression? So... basically by using a lower profile to undermine me, the opponent. Again, psychology 101. But let's just pretend that saying "Oh your pea-sized brain is so unfortunate" (example) is not aggressive. You do know that this is text, right? (By the way, great example of being passive-aggressive) There is no way of finding out about your actual tone of voice, that's why you need to word stuff better. Yes, I'm sorry if I misjudged you, but you've got to admit, that was worded badly.

Thank you for the poll! I hope I'll win it this time.
