If it helps, I'm piecing together a bit of a short story. Give me a week and I'll put it up, low on time atm.

Only got around to making a prelude, I'm kind of swamped atm haha. Hope it's a good read. Note: There are spoilers (duh...)
Corvo takes a seat next to Lady Emily as they settle down for dinner. Emily, the young empress now in her early twenties, and her closest friend began their feast in reminiscence of their accomplishments since the days of the plague. Having taken the throne upon herself at such an early age, she had struggled at first. Between council meetings and determining how they should manage the remaining 'hazard' zones in Dunwall, it seemed as if she'd be overwhelmed with the struggles of her newly appointed position. But with Corvo by her side as influence and inspiration, she managed to rule with a tender heart much like her mother, focusing on providing for her people. Piero and Sokolov were on the brink of creating a cure for the plague upon the city when Corvo had assisted them with the arc pylon and with the help of Sokolov's research on a cure for the plague, the two were able to create and release their cure through the air utilizing a new machine that worked much like the arc pylon, allowing the cure to be spread throughout large areas of the city at a time. Within a month, there was no trace of the plague left to be found. From there, the city began to rebuild and reform. No more than ten years had passed and Dunwall was once again a prosperous city founded on the production and distribution of refined whale oils. Both Corvo and Emily laughed as they shrugged off their hardships and settled down to a fine bottle of wine. A few drinks later and they were dancing the night away. Corvo began pestering her on when she would seek courtship with a man while she in turn nagged him for the same. It was just another celebratory night, one that bonded them closer and closer. As the sun fell beyond the horizon, they both took to their own quarters, wishing the other the sweetest of dreams and of future good tidings. Corvo crept up the grand staircase with the same agile and yet threatening steps he once took, noting that he still had his old touch. With a smile, he opened the door to his room. There in the dim glow of a candle were the runes he had long since done away with, tossed into the ocean as a signifying act of leaving his old ways behind; And yet, there they were, pinned to the walls of his haven. Dazed and confused, he began to feel the mark burning on his hand. Corvo soon after had passed out onto the floor, with a familiar voice whispering to him, 'I have a request for you...'
Corvo awakened in a brightly lit street corner, frozen in time yet busy as could be. These streets were not that of Dunwall, Corvo thought to himself. Just as he had begun to examine the area, the Outsider appeared before him. 'Hello, Corvo.' Corvo Responded with a muttered sentence the Outsider could not hear. His mask. He was wearing the mask given to him long ago. 'I know what you are wondering, why I have come to you in such a peaceful time in your life,' the Outsider continued, 'Know that while I am a man of my word, having only requested that you do with your powers as you will, I have yet another need for your talents.' Corvo looked to him quizzically, studying his face in an attempt to make out an emotion the Outsider did not seem to possess. 'It seems as though there have been... complications with another individual of whom I am quite fond of,' the Outsider gestured to a man, one wearing a white hoody, walking through the crowd almost as if he didn't belong there. The Outsider continued, 'He has much at stake over the rest of the world and I am interested in how his future will play out; However, it seems that something has occurred, a flaw to this ultimatum of sorts. A man of no origin, no name, no past, present nor a future,' Gesturing to yet another individual in a far off land, this one wearing a black suit with a blood red tie. Most notably were his harsh, blank face and a strange marking on the back of his head, 'has been instructed to hunt my latest subject and as such, he will be greatly challenged. While this is of natural occurrence, a necessary turn of the page, is seems my subject is lost in time himself. A science experiment gone long wrong, trapping his conscious mind in a machine while his body runs lose with the mind of another, creating this unnatural misconstruance. I ask you not to intrude in these matters, but to assist in returning the passing times to their natural order.' Thinking back over what the Outsider had said, one thing stuck in the back of Corvo's mind. 'Ah, yes. You are indeed in another passing of time, a whole new existence of time and space, an alternate universe in which Dunwall nor Emily exist. While I am not forcing you to stay in this time to complete this task, I merely request your assistance in this manner. You are the most pure-hearted of my subordinates and deep down I know you are the only one who can help restore order to this realm of existence. Will you help me?' Reaching out a hand to Corvo, not a word more was to be said between them. Corvo looked to the man in the hoodie and then to the man in the suit, thinking through his options. With a final nod of his head, Corvo took the Outsider's hand once more and felt that familiar burning on the back of his hand...

My story would involve randomness and stupidity, so I wouldn't get any votes. xP
