I'm curious ;D I promise I won't laugh if it's a stupid reason!

I came up with Yatterman after playing Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom way too much and using him as my main character and the name just stuck with me.

Can you give a link to the scene? Recently finished the series and it doesn't ring any bells. If you were my caramel bear than that would have been more familiar.

I live in Newfoundland, Canada. It's the foggiest place in the world (well, technically the Grand Banks, IN Newfoundland is, but close enough). The island is also nicknamed "The Rock". Put the two together, and you get my username. Or where I live... Maybe I should rethink my username?...lol

Never too big on creativity... I needed a nickname for AA back in the early 2006, so my brother suggested something random, like "Yeti". Has been with me ever since, wheter it's steam, twitter or any other site;] "WasHere", year of my birth or country of my origin(though Im not particulary proud of my countrymen- most of them make us look bad as a whole:P) is addedd wherever "Yeti" is already taken(also tried Bigfoot, but it doesn't sound well, in my opinion at least). The coolest and most unique(:P) avatar joined later the same year.

Same here - no creativity at all hehe. Simply need a decent name, and I only could come with Mostwanted up from Need For Speed - Mostwanted. Loved that game.

I've always had an affinity with red/pink-haired animu gurls. J/K, I just liked the series and their character traits. At first it was Milfeulle from Galaxy Angel, which I still use in my old funclan, but I've gone by Hisui on Steam most of the time. Like her, I'm a quiet, unsociable mecha.

On different more anime-centered communities, a little bit more creativity was required, so I used nekosasu/natsuneko. And I'll be the laughing stock if I say that the original meaning was neko (cat) + sasu(ke from a popular anime)... That nickname was made over 10 years ago though, and I've since found a new meaning: shining cat (sasu - to shine). Not really convincing, so I changed it to natsuneko, since I love summer and cats.

tl;dr: I have a shitload of nicks. You may still just call me Hisui. bow

Complete lack of creativity.

Other than that I was playing Oblivion, my first TES, and reading uesp.net while doing quests. I got to learn about the lore from the previous games as well. Read a little of the main story of Morrowind and considering I like gods I picked this.

This one came from the days when I used to play Neverwinter Nights with a friend. While he had a cool sounding name, I just had...Well nothing. So in my frustration, I sorta rolled my head against the keyboard and got a huge string of letters, and got "kyi" out of it somehow due to luck. I just added "thios" because it sounded like it would fit, and also because of the name of a character in a book I read in passing whose name was "Lios."

So it just sort of stuck, and I've since used it in various MMO's and various different websites.

Monukai was a name I used in WoW and a name that my friend used in EverQuest OA (I came up with half of it). I had a toon named Valcrae originally, and made an alt named Valukai (since Val my popular nickname), and my friend who was on a character named Monet started an alt with me and made it Monukai. Then when I finally made the move to WoW (not long after these alts on EQOA were made) I used Valukai as my mains name since it was fresh, and then when I rolled an alt I named it Monukai. When BC hit I played my rogue until I got 70 and quickly lost interest during raiding and we needed more healers so I rolled to my druid and that's has (or was--quit this past year) been my main ever since.

Mostly all the names I use I come up with myself: Zykour, Valcrae, Jajika. Generally I just use phonetics (i.e. I start mumbling words) until something sounds neat and refine it if needed--that's how I came up with Jajika and Zykour. Jajika I actually came up with originally for a new password, then when I replaced it I used it as a character name.

I've been watching an anime called One Piece (which mainly consists of pirates with super powers) for 6 years now and the main character (in my avatar, with a straw hat) has eaten a fruit which gives him the "super power", his power is having a body made of rubber. For Steam and most places I use gomuninguen - Rubber = "gomu" in japanese and "ningen" means human, but at the time I first used the username, I didn't know that and spelled it with a u in the middle, so "niguen" and it just stuck. In some places I just use gomukaizoku or gomunokaizoku which means Rubber Pirate.

I was trying to come up with a username about a decade ago for some "Nsider" thingie, got frustrated after the first 10-15 names I came up with were already taken, banged my fists on the keyboard, and "gtjio" is what showed up. I've been using it ever since.

My username has a really odd origin. When I played Unreal Championship for Xbox my favorite character was the robot Cobalt. Then, when I played Crimson Skies on Xbox and needed a name for my profile, I used the name Cobalt as reference to the robot. Since Crimson Skies was the first game I ever played on XBox live, I decided to make a username similar to my profile name for the game. The first name that popped into my head was KobaltKnight and now that's been my username for online games/forums ever since then (technically KobaltKnight II for Xbox live now since I didn't know how to reactivate my old account once I got a 360 and so I just set up a new one with that name).
