i assume they'll add 'free' steam default backgrounds in the future. the money component of the entire 'new profile/cards' thing is why i was hoping the trading card beta would never pass 'beta' stage.
currently some decent backgrounds go for cents, so if you've ever sold cards on the market, you can afford plenty of backgrounds. emoticons on the other hands are shit and mostly useless.

I figured this would be fine, since there was a very long avatar rating thread a while ago. I thought I'd make a different take on it. Since we all have to link our steam accounts, we could rate each other based on steam profile. You can start with me, I'll join in there somewhere.
