It was fun back ten... and I think it's still entertaining, even by today standards. I always have been impressed with its art design. I also love the imaginary language, created for the purposes of the game.
(by the way - there's also remake on Wii and a couple of sequels for other platforms)

Yeah, water effects are also way too good for an early 2000s game (unless it's a pre-rendered graphics).
However, trees, architecture and other stuff look more like late 90s.

Goldeneye has very characteristic HUD, so it was really easy to guess. Besides, N64 is one of my beloved game machines, so I know all Rareware games in's and out's.
