I don't think I'll get an answer to my "how do I obscure images?" question before work tomorrow, so for the sake of speeding things up, I'll post an image that can probably easily be tracked down. That being said, I'd be very interested in seeing if anyone naturally knows where this came from. Even if someone else posts the answer, tell me if you know it!

It's not really required to obscure the image, but might make it more challenging if you want to make people work for it :)
One method I do is look for a let's play on YouTube, take a screengrab, and crop. The rotation tip is probably another good one, or some combination of little things like that to throw the reverse image search engines off.

While I did see that it isn't required, I was hoping to weed out someone who would know the actual game I picked. XD I actually wondered if a Let's Play method would work, but I wasn't sure if Google Image could track that down. If it works for you, I'm guessing it'd work for me. =P Thanks! Not sure what for I spent several minutes trying to change the original image into an awful parody if it can still be found Googled (damn you fiends) quite fine, sigh. But it'd probably require making your own non distict screenshot to avoid the task being way too easy.
Either way, try testing yourself without search engine, the game is quite simple to guess.

Don't feel too bad about it though, as you've said search tools are kind of an inevitability in these kinds of guessing games and it can help keep the thread from stalling too long. It can be a great feeling when you've found a kindred spirit who relates to the image posted in a similar way as you without engine assistance, but sometimes it's just not meant to be. :)

After rereading UnPunch's first post, I think I must have misunderstood him the first time thinking that he preferred a pure guess without searching but he would fine with it either way. But now I get that he meant his attempt to obscure the source was futile and it "can be found Googled quite fine". D'oh!

So this particular gif comes from a TV special that was called "Dokkiri Award". The guy in the bed is a celebrity comedian, and has signed off on waivers and releases to be on the show -- I believe these participants know they are going to get punk'd in a pretty hardcore way, but don't exactly know how or when it's going to happen until it does to preserve the natural surprise/shock they display. xD

I deliberately chose this to throw you guys off as the lo-poly "POLICE PRECINCT" signage stuck out like some bad MS Word Art from the 90's in an otherwise fairly modern looking game.
