I like most type of music even newer stuff. Not big on stuff with racist crap in it, though there are still a few songs I will listen to with even with them saying the n word. Body Count by Body Count as one example.

Not all Rap music is the same. Don't just judge it by what is popular. I'm in my 40s and I used to say I hate all Rap too, but that was just because I had such a limited exposure to it.
For those interested in more intellectual Rap check out the Deltron 3030 album. It's by Del the Funky Homosapian and Kid Koala, with beats laid down by Dan the Automator.

its the beats that seperate crap from music for me. music beint the thing with music, not beats

I think it's utterly ridiculous to say "you dislike Rap, therefor you are racist!".
But then again, the internet is full of utterly ridiculous people.

I wish people like you would go away with their race-baiting bs.
This is one of the most random topics I have ever heard of.
You could make a similar topic for just about anything. "I overheard a guy say that if you don't like sports/girls/alcohol/etc, then you are a loser/idiot/faggot/etc. Therefore, I wonder how many people like sports/girls/alcohol/etc, just so people don't think they are a loser/idiot/fag/etc."

Hell, I will go a step further. "People often say that if you break the law, then you are a criminal and that they don't like criminals. Thus, I wonder how many people don't break the law solely for that reason, i.e so that people don't think less of them."
We can do this all day.
"I overheard someone say that eating your cereal with water is weird. So, I wonder how many people eat cereal with milk just so they don't seem weird."

99% of rap is unoriginal shit about money and sex. In fact the only time I find rap to be good is when it has elements of other, better genres and actual lyrics. For example, Flobots are a brilliant group, and they don't feel the need to talk about fucking bitches and counting money.

Ughh....go away and stop pulling percentages out your ass.
This is the opinion people have if they only know about radio rap, I can say the same about radio rock and I fucking love both genres.
Btw Flobots were one hit wonders, Handlebars was a good song....that's about it.

I started listening to rap before I heard of racism. So yeah, I don't care about this stuff.
To people hating on rap - how many rappers do you actually know? Eminem? Probably 2pac, Snoop? I doubt there're more you know of. If you ever want to hate on something, get your facts straight first. Rap isn't only about bitches, money and weed. It's also about sharing one's point of view, commenting about society, politics...
Some of my favorite rappers:
Hopsin - Ill mind of Hopsin 5
Immortal Technique - Dance with the Devil
R.A. The Rugged Man - Uncommon Valor
Lowkey ft. Logic - Relatives
Tech N9ne - Fragile
Mayday - Last one standing
etc. etc.

There is "good music" and "bad music", fuck genres.
There is no serious comment on youtube, just random people joking around.
In my country, we never ever discussed racism.Something is wrong with you people if you actually argue over racism.Whoever smelt it dealt it you know ...
But my personal opinion, if you actually never like any song of Tech N9ne you might have a problem. They have hundreds of songs and every one of them has a different taste, you probably like at least one of them.
Then there is EMINEM, the real fact here.I dare you to say "I don't like M&M", I DOUBLE DARE YOU MF !

I don't just like Rap - I'm down with it.

Older rap, anyway.

I wouldn't know about that but for me I don't like rap. Not "hate", just don't like them, mainly because I normally like orchestration (with a mix of modern synth instruments). Those movie/game soundtrack, or bigband jazz, at least.
I don't even care that much about the lyric which mean I don't "not-like" rap because of the words but the sound itself.
BTW, I don't like rock either.

I like rap, but I fail to see how people who don't are racist. That is absolutely the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Rap has long since stopped being an all black affair, especially after Eminem became bigger than 90% of the black rappers. And let's not forget, Eminem discovered a lot of black rappers like 50 Cent, for example. Hell, there are even Asian rappers nowadays, ffs. How is hating on something that has no correlation to race whatsoever racist? The only thing that is racist are the black people who think rap should only be sung by black people and dis on people like Eminem solely because of skin color and no other criteria(like talent for example). But that's a whole other story entirely.

I don't like rap music in general. As with any genre, there are a few songs here and there that I will enjoy but it's simply not my thing. Me taste lies elsewhere. It's not racism, it's personal preferences. I'm sure country could be considered white people music and I don't like it either.
As for interracial dating, I date another human being with whom I can connect on a deeper level. I couldn't care less about the color of her skin. Dating someone for any reason other than the fact you're getting along great together is pointless and quite stupid.

Rap sounds like naughty, immature schoolchildren proclaiming nonsense to me. Nothing to do with race or colour, it all to do with the sound of it. Utter rubbish.

I came across this point of a comment on youtube.com. I did not think of it at first and simply thought the person was way off. Now I think about it again. I wonder how many people are following rap trend because they do think it is racist to not like rap? I have a feeling this kind of thinking might be little more common but I hope I am wrong. So, I wonder how many people are doing/following things because they think it would be racist (or input other word) to not do so.
Lol, maybe a more bizarre example could be being part of an interracial relationship because it would be racist to not date outside your ethnicity. This is just an example. No doubt there's at least few out there that actually do this. I am pretty sure there is a word for what I am trying to say. What do you people think?
