Are all the recordings validated to be by the actual person somehow? :P And will the winner (at least) be revealed when this is all over? I even have some old karaoke recordings here, but anime stuff... and a game music one too.

Above all, congratz for teh braveries to sing in public. Somewhat in public at least.
Some of them were actually quite good. Some good music choices too. :)
Last (and only one time) i karaoke'd (after a lot of influencing liquid ingestion), one of my friends asked me if i had ever heard a cat being strangled.
I found that disturbing, yet still dared ask why he would ask such a disturbing thing. He simply replied saying... "well, i never heard it, but i bet it would be less painful than listening to you karaoke'ing"... i cry evertim :'(
Do we get disclosure of who sang what AFTER the voting?
I'm genuinely curious, even though i recognize some, some others i'm not certain. :P

number 5 voice is simply perfect, but too perfect to me (sounds stupid i know)
number 4 gets my vote, because of surprisingly good voice/italian/classic/opera/totally different than the rest - i like that! :D

True, but I am giving the top three singers a game, and while things are starting to clear up I'm not quite ready to call the second and third place winners when they are two or three votes from the current 4th

Alas this round is done, phase one lasted two weeks, I figured that was long enough most of the people that wanted to participate.
I may run another contest in the future, but i doubt I'll do the recording via teamspeak again, it was fun, but exhausting.

I did not participate 'cause I do not have a stable connection at home so an alternative method could be nice :) Even if it could lead to cheaters..
On the other hand, I'll probably upgrade my internet connetion after this summer so the problem won't exist anymore (for me) =P
Asking in case of another edition: is my presence mandatory? 'cause my gf really liked the idea but I don't think she can join in my place, right? is a duet my only solution?
EDIT: I liked the idea too, but I'm way more shy than her :v

I can's say, it's too soon for me to make decisions about any future contests. All I can say for sure is teamspeak is out, and that's mostly due to time zones. I had at least one person that only had time to record at 3:00 am my local time, I had to go to sleep at 5:00 PM that night to be able to wake up in time to record. I'm not as young as I once was, the past week, i have been sleeping longer then usual, i think I'm still recovering from all my missed sleep during the recording phase.

well, if the upload phase could be automated everything would be easy.. maybe you could do a thread and ask for ideas to other users :)
