Does the FEAR bundle come as all separate keys? Or more specifically a separate key for the FEAR 2 DLC?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

No and Yes. I purchased it a few months ago to replace my old physical copies, these are the keys I got:

  • F.E.A.R. (Inc 2 DLC)(single key)
  • F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin
  • F.E.A.R. 2: Reborn DLC
  • F.E.A.R. 3

That would be perfect for me. I bought the FEAR pack years ago and it didn’t include the FEAR2 DLC back then. Thank you!

For me it was separate key for F.E.A.R. 2: Reborn DLC, but I bought that bundle more than a year ago.
There were 4 keys:

  • F.E.A.R. (Inc 2 DLC)
  • F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin
  • F.E.A.R. 2: Reborn DLC
  • F.E.A.R. 3

I don't know about you guys, but this event seems to me more of a Star Deal Fest than a Bundle Fest / Blast.
I'm pretty disappointed overall, I expected more "real" bundles and definitely more new ones as opposed to so many repeats.
I buy a lot of bundles in general, but I didn't find anything worth buying in this event, so far at least.

Yeah previous events culminated in the reveal of at least one 'big' bundle before the end, often even 2 or 3. So I was really hoping this was a precursor to the new killer bundle, or even a nemesis one, but so far just a lot of repeats and the crapshoot that is 'mystery' bundles.

Temporary ownership of anything is very rarely worth it

I have two choices: buying it or pirating it. WoW players are also temporary owners. Cause they can't play without paying subscription. It's like that. I mean, I like the program, I used it in the past (tbh, pirating) and wanted to buy it in the future. Advanced SystemCare is nice and DriverBooster too. I used to use Smart Defrag too. For me those programs are not necessary but are useful for sure. Especially that they can clean up everything You did on Your PC. Every mess. That's why I'm hesitating... cause it's just a year, yeah, but I was enjoying using it.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

There's a million free defrag programs and for the money you save on commercial software you can buy a SSD that won't need it :>

Does Advanced System Care actually improve anything measurable? I sure have some old Windows installs somewhere that take minutes to start simply because of how much crap accumulated over the years, how much would that really help?

You know... there is always non-comercial cola drink, that is uncomparable to original Coca-Cola. The same goes for free programs. They can't be free. You have to pay sallaries to Your IT people to do such program. So it's either worse or/and have ads in it. I hate ads.

I like RAM cleaner from ASC. Why not using any other? Because You can make bluescreen if You erase RAM too recklessly. ASC is well known program, they have some respect and fame. They can't just risk to lose PR by making OS crashing. And free programs doesn't care, cause nobody knows it and it has no opinion.
Also, it's really hard to decide if such programs does improve system measurably. I mean. You can never defragment Your HDD, I never noticed any difference between doing so and not doing so. And not doing so is supposedly bad thing, right? I heard You shall never have any programs on Your desktop. I never noticed any difference between having or not having heavy files on my desktop. Etc etc. CCleaner is free but what does it do. Nothing. ASC does the same and more. But if it really does improve that much? My PC, almos t4 yo, was too stable, smooth for all the time. From when I buy it till... about 2 months ago, but nevermind. I mean, it's still... very very smooth in its job. It's just Opera that started using more RAM than necessary. But I never got any lag on my PC, so I don't really know how much it can improve. But at least I know Driver Booster is very useful. It prompts when a driver needs an update. And Smart Defrag defragments PC... don't know if any better than regular Windows defragmentation tool... ASC allows me to clean way more than CCleaner or manually cleaning can.

Also... new SSD for 8 euros? No, it's not possible. It cost like 50 euros at least. 128GB SSD.I wouldn't consider buying anything cheaper cause it won't be good. Would be cool if SSD were cheaper, like 512 for 50 euros but not in the nearest future.

So about that email coupon you get, I didn't receive one, maybe there's a spending minimum to get it? I only bought the Infinity Bundle, and I checked my inbox and spam folder. I got the Confirmation for the Bundle, and later I got the Fanatical email about the Bundle Blast (fashionably late, lol). No coupons though, so I'd guess you need to have spent at least 5 dollar/euros/etc to get one to begin with?

I have a question! Some people have reported getting a 10% off coupon after spending more than $5.
I bought 3 bundles and the total was over $5, but I received no coupon.
Is the promotion over?

Edit: NVM I got the coupon in my email :'))
Works with a minimum spend of $5.

Wow is even one of these new apart from the 'mystery' bundles. Now we have a crazy machines reloaded bundle. Was this all just a big ruse to push the mystery bundles, or are they saving the best til last?

Yes I do get that impression. What better way to launch this idea, than offer a bunch of games we've already got in repeat bundles, but dangle a not too expensive 'gamble' bundle to maybe give you a AAA game?

No, it's just that mine really only shows 29 and even says '29 BUNDLES AVAILABLE NOW FOR A LIMITED TIME' so no idea why I don't see all of them, guess that is a mistake on my side then. Now I am curious what happens after the last countdown.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

That is strange, here it says, that 30 bundles are available.

But in the first post here, all 30 bundles are mentioned, so you could compare the bundles shown here and on fanatical.

Permalink

Some of them were already active before this 'event' though, which is why it didn't make sense to me that they are listed above when they already launched prior.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

True, and besides this, that they count to the 30 bundles mentioned on top of the bundles-page.

But then, the initial post her on sg is also wrong.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Yeah if we look at the table in the bundle master list and disregard anything from Sept 17 onward, at the very least it seems like Spotlight 7, Fully Loaded 5, and the three Anthology bundles should not count judging by their launch dates (which is in line with what I thought). This is of course assuming that they did not end before and were simply not removed from the list. I don't think they did but I can't say that I checked prior. So that's five bundles right there and there may be more. It's also unclear whether simple price drops on active bundles count towards the total for the event.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

At least I found out which bundle I am missing, am missing 'Motorsport Manager Bundle' because for some reason it can't be activated in my country and so they don't even show it.

Is says:
Starting today, we'll be launching new bundles at various stages of each day, with the final bundle being revealed during Thursday afternoon (September 20th BST).

So with that you should be able to assume we get a few more and than bundles that we had before wouldn't count, but that's just a guess.

Wow, when they said 30 bundles I thought that at least the majority of them would be new, even if poor quality like a whole load of dollar bundles or something. What is the point of re-doing old bundles again and again? It's not like the amount of games people own has got less in the interim time. I'd have bought them the first time round if I was interested and I'm even less interested now. I've learned by experience to not gamble on 'mystery bundles' (thanks Groupees) so I won't be trying my luck with those. This was a massive hype (that they started last week if I remember rightly) over nothing. Shame.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I honestly don't understand why people are still surprised. We have seen more than enough of these kinds of promotions from Bundle Stars/Fanatical to know exactly what to expect: not too appealing on most of them and largely either rebundled games or entire repeated bundles with maybe one or two bundles at best that are actually 'good' and enticing. There is such thing as too much of a 'good' thing and this is one of the nice examples of it but this is hardly anything new from them with these periodic events.

Do you feel great relief that the worst bundles in a long time were followed by the best bundle in a long time?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Haha yes! It was disappointing because fanatical have always been one of the 'good' guys. When they have events like this it's almost always been because they are launching a new killer bundle or something else really good. But then this was just ridiculous with the countdown timer and hype to another bundle we've already seen and potluck bundles. It seemed so pointless.

So you still hoped that they'd still give something good but they were running out of 'bundles' to reveal. Then bam, as you say, one of the best bundles in a long time and faith is restored. I still don't know why it needed half a week of hype to get there.
