While the fact that all those youtubers you pointed out are annoying as fuck you call that a reason for the game being shitty. Minecraft is a game not about getting tools and having a diamond pickaxe, but about building contructions, hence the redstone and pistons.
The fact that minecraft has modding capabilities is obviously also pretty good.
Your argumentation seems to be more "I played it for 100 hours now it's boring -> the game is bad".
Although, having a server with friends and non retarded people is a big plus point when it comes to replayability, especially if you put mods like Tekkit onto it. Just the fact that you can have programable turtles is enough reason for me to say it has infinite possiblities. Just think of it. You could use hundreds of turtles for so many purposes. I see not why minecraft is bad ,especially because I only payed 10€ for it.

Someone more hipster than me?
initiate hipsters are retarded mode
Omg stop acting like you are like the founder of minecraft just because you've been there first. Playing it back then and playing it now is totally the same and you should burn for pointing out that you were there first omg how dare you try to brag with it you are nothing special hipster moron omgggmgmgmgmgmg fortix.
turn off
I didn't actually know it was 5€, I remember how crative mode was fun without water physics and how sponges were the best item ever.
I remember how everyone was so happy when survival came out lol, it was so basic though.
Did MC lack any other significant features when it was still 5€?

It was like riding a dinosaur compared to modern car with seat belts, ESP, GPS, AirCon and so on. Unbreakable items and massive memory leaks is what pops up in my mind when I think about the alpha.
I actually hated the game. It was that clunky, ugly-ass, stupid, stop-liking-what-i-dislike game, that a friend of mine used to play like a lunatic. He convinced me to give it a try and I started building my first ugly house and other primitive crap. Fell in love with MC and immediately ordered 5 copies and convinced 4 other friends to start playing it. At some point I built a fully automated grilled pork factory and mastered the mastery of redstone masters of the universe.

About the youtube part: true, I love seeing kids spamming forums with their channels, thinking they're going to be the next big thing just because they upload Minecraft and Call of Duty videos, but that's not the game's fault.
The game is tons of fun if you play it with friends, not with random kids, and the point of the game is exploring and surviving, looking for materials to build your stuff. It's not the same starting creative mode to build what you want than looking for those materials yourself. And sure, once you have tons of stuff and you don't need to look for anything else I'm sure it will get boring, but I'm sure that won't happen in 10 hours into the game.
Also, it's not overrated, it was a great hit when it came out, and the boom of indie games is in part thanks to that.

Let me jump onto your bandwagon and swallow my own original reply where I compare Minecraft to a pixelated turd.

And your opinion about whether a game is good or not matters to others because...?

It is. Even if I still play it (maybe twice a month) must say I'm soooo tired fo this game on YouTube.. Ok, it can be, but why every ,,well known" channel featured to me is about minecraft? ;/ thats annoying, cuz people cand find more interresting channels... more ambitious.
Cheerz.

Two years ago, I played it really often and I enjoyed it, but now I barely even touch it. I'd only play it when it's heavily nodded, like Tekkit for example.
And what you said about YouTube is more than right. Everyone wants to make a let's play (I don't even get the sense of watching LPs at all, except for getting an impression of what the game is like when you think about buying it). Here in Germany, every 12 year old is watching Gronkh (a German LPer who became famous for his MC LPs. You even hear about him while taking the bus. And I can't stand that.

Why does people making videos about a game make the game any less enjoyable?

Minecraft is still a thing? I though people had moved on to Happy Wheels.

Cookie Clicker is still a thing? I thought people had moved on to Clicking Bad

I never saw the appeal myself. I've got friends who love it, and they let me jump into an empty world and work, and they get confused when I don't know what to do. I mean, I know what to do. Dig a cave, build a workbench, craft stuff, build things, etc. Then what? I dunno, I guess I need clear(er) objectives. (Yet I enter every Garry's Mod giveaway I see. I dunno, I just think it will be more fun even though I know it's fundamentally the same thing.)

According to that logic every game is overrated because there is always someone who didn't enjoy it.
As for youtubers, there are still people who like to watch minecraft videos and many youtubers who made mc vids in the past get tons of "more minecraft" comments (those who decide not to make any more mc vids often lose subs because of it). One youtuber I used to watch decided to make a new channel just to get rid of the "mincrafters" as he said that he does not enjoy making mc vids anymore and he only wants to keep the subscribers who enjoy watching him playing things he considers enjoyable.

Minecraft is very much what you make of it. It's not that it's overrated, it's that Minecraft is a very personal experience to play. Everyone who enjoys it tends to get something different out of it. If you don't like it, it's just not for you.

It's clear to see the original poster lacks any creativity whatsoever and his only true argument are games that pretty much tell him what he needs to do like PayDay. Borderlands. Super Meat Boy. Don't Starve......which clearly just says he has a lazy mind and doesnt like creating his own fun simple as that but this argument can go on forever not only on this game but also games such as Monster Hunter or even Garry's Mod for example some people love it others hate it....I for one enjoy games that let you create pretty much w/e the hell you want

If you don't have Terraria, get that instead since its 2.50 on sale. It doesn't have all the epic mods that MC does, but the singleplayer vanilla is better.

I agree, Minecraft is overrated. And boring... all I ever manage to do is craft a giant phallic object then get bored.

Before you go all "omg ur such a nub minecreft is teh best gaim evur!!!11!" on me hear my points.
Sure, it can be fun for a while, but all the attention its gotten is really too much. Its a very simplistic game, and the only way I found fun on it was modding it, which got boring after a while too. Once you get your diamond tools and stuff its basically over, nothing else to do but build and you have the creative mode for that.
Also you have about 100 thousand minecraft youtubers, which try to copy the success of others which is very annoying, making youtube like 50% minecraft videos. If I wanted to watch people build I'd sit down and watch a construction site.
And time for the 'best' part. The multiplayer. All there is to say about it is that its a bunch of kids aged 5 - 12 with yogscast skins that 'troll' by destroying pixelated bricks and then the occasional 30 year old creeper that plays it too.
TL;DR - I don't enjoy minecraft and I think its overrated.
