Somehow i recognize the map, but can't quite remember where from. Carmageddon 2?

The memories.... I loved the long tracks in this one, didn't enjoy the Factory Driver missions, though.

Extra stuff is always cool, I guess I didn't like them because I sucked at them. I also remember you could download extra cars for free post launch, which was a novelty for the time. I got to drive around in the 959 this way which made me very happy.

There are almost 30 different Indiana Jones games out there, you'll have to be more specific.
HINT: Not an Indiana Jones game :p

You know, it's funny you mention the water effects, as that makes me recall a quote I read in a lengthy profile of Jonathan Blow (of Braid and The Witness fame) that I read back in 2012. The quote is from a friend of Blow's who was part of the team that worked on Red Alert 3 and goes as follows:
THE HAPPIEST I ever saw Blow was when we met his friend Marc ten Bosch one night at the Oakland branch of a legendarily artery-obstructing local chain called Zachary’s Chicago Pizza. Ten Bosch is a tall, serious independent developer whose grave reticence provided an entertaining counterpoint to Blow’s philosophical expansiveness. When ten Bosch mentioned that he had worked briefly at Electronic Arts on the team that developed the real-time strategy game Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3, I asked whether he’d found the project interesting. Ten Bosch reflected on this for a moment with the solemn intensity of a man testifying before a Senate subcommittee.
“There were some cool water effects,” he finally said.
“Ooh!,” Blow chimed in. “That’s the ultimate diss!”
Marc ten Bosch is the indie dev behind wildly ambitious 4D platformer Miegakure, which you may have heard of before.

Totally forgot about this game. I do love a good puzzle game and this will be a breath of fresh air when it gets released.

Of Light and Darkness: The Prophecy.
I was reminded about this game recently, probably after seeing your first screenshot, but more along the lines of "that would be a good game to use here", but then your second screenshot told me it was that after all. Pass!

Hey all! I'm really sorry for having abandoned the thread, just been caught up in life stuff and haven't had the energy to keep up with steamgifts things lately. If you all want to start a new thread and someone else is keen on keeping score and/or monitoring the game, that's totally cool and I encourage you to do so! I'll probably pop in from time to time and make a few guesses as things on my end settle down a bit. Happy game guessing, and see you all around hopefully a little later on down the line. :)

Well hello there, good to see that you're still alive! Basically what gonsi said, I don't think any of us are doing it for the points at this point so no need to worry. I can see us using this thread until SG breaks again or until somebody can be bothered to pick up the mantle of GM :) Hope to see you around, kuribo.

Hopefully I'll be able to return soon, I think early next year things will settle down a bit and I'll be able to get back to being more active at Steamgifts again. I've missed being around game discussions and hanging with you all, I am looking forward to being able to spend more time here.

I should say that I'm the one who asked kuribo if he'd be returning or if we should reboot the thread. I do think that the game is better when there's a host, but 2 voices so far have been along the lines of "we can manage fine without one." Which, admittedly, we do.

I also think it's more fun with a leaderboard, and if y'all haven't started a new thread in a couple months I may be able to resume tallying and more actively participating. I've missed hanging out with you guys and seeing all the interesting games and screenshots you've come up with.

Added second image.
It is surprisingly hard to find non-searchable screens for this game because of technical reasons. This fact may count as something of a small hint.

Developed by Terminal Reality, who went on to use the character of Svetlana (who features in this game and its predecessor Nocturne) as a template for the protagonist of BloodRayne. Surprisingly hard to find meaningful screens that don't turn up in image search as this game has a lot of cutscenes and fixed camera views, also like Nocturne. The devs somehow force-squeezed the Blair Witch license into their already established Nocturne property instead of basing the game on the film, which is kind of amusing. I never got to play it myself, though.

Gamers in Paradise?
Yes, the subtitle is a spoof on Revenge of the Nerds II: Nerds in Paradise. Because the last thread reminded me that no matter how good you think you are at something, there is always someone more masterful that you can learn from. :)
