Still, you can just wait for 300 points to gather and bid. I mean, who will bid less than 300 if it automaticly means that u loose to someone who bids 300 AND it takes you longer to get 300 yourself to compete withh al the people who bid 300?

Maybe we will bring a bidding limit, specially to an IP address so people can not over bid on multiple accounts as well. Thank you for bringing this up, this is something we will do now you brought it up. We are basically on here asking what people thing and their ideas, we want it made with the community on their ideas and feedback. Thanks again.

A few points...
Or, is this concept a "sniping" concept, in which whoever is the last person to "bid" before the timer runs out is the one who wins?

Thank you for asking.
Well, there will be a limit on points you can have, like SteamGifts. For people who put games up for trading will be given points and if it occurs over 300 or so, it will be stored on their profile and then they can gain points quicker then people for a certain amount of time so they gain their winnings.
This site is like SteamGifts but instead of people not getting anything for giving free games, they will get more chances to win games for their kindness. You will most likely not get the trade value if your put them up for sell on eBay, with SteamAuction, it is like SteamTrades and SteamGifts combined where people give free games for a chance for users to win and you gain the winnings for future bids you want to bid on yourself.
I hope I answered your questions, if I am not clear, please say, it has been a long night! :)

I like to add that this project is on it's way and we are in discussions with the creator of SteamGifts to maybe have an integration for the two sites.
Here is a link to our Steam Group, we are community built and would love to get the notice for the creator of SteamGifts to listen. http://steamcommunity.com/groups/SteamAuction
Thank you

You are not discussing anything with CG. See this thread.
It's going to fail like WizSports.

Well, after some feedback from people with great information and feedback. This is what we have so far.
People who sign up will be given 300 bidding points and 10 bids a day or maybe a bid an hour. These are points you can use to bid on games or items.
People will require to sign in through Steam like SteamGifts etc.
The game that is up for bid will need to be in the persons Inventory before adding a game or item.
People can only bid on a game a certain amount, this is done by your IP. If you have several members in the house who may use the site, you will need to open a ticket.
Anyone interested in giving advice, helping out or being beta testers. Email admin@steamauction.com
Any other feedback is welcomed!
Thank you to Zaek, joaoaroucha, peroxide. Anyhoo, Yuu
