"EDIT: I've bought PS Vita yesterday and now I want to know some cool games."
Sorry but i have bad information for you. Much better choice was PSP or 3DS with his backward compatible.
Why? It's simply.
SONY don't care about PSV. They only updating their firmware for fighting against hackers. In PSP times they tried to push some developers to create some games on it. Now they promoting PSV as remote control thing..... They don't even show up how many PSV was sold. They only care about PS3 and PS4. PSV mainly is for playing indie games and some small part of Japan games that were translated (that mean some jrpg games).
I'm know that if I will write this some people will eat me up for this (i'm not approving pirates but) after installing not official firmware on PSP you can always play some GBA, or NES games if you would get bored with PSP games.
I was never big fan on Nintendo consoles (most of games are not in my type) but even 3DS is much better choice than PSV. Nintendo care about their consoles..... SONY not. Not every games from PSP is on PSN (like FF Crisis Core) that's why you won't be able to play some games from PSP on PSV. On 3DS there aren't any problems if you would want to play some DS games. You only need insert DS card. PSV don't have UMD reading if you would want to bought some physical games.
I hope my english it's not so bad that you won't be able to understand what I wrote ;p
BTW. The best way to find some interesting games on consoles is just write on youtube "top games on PSV" and look for videos where will be gameplays of these games. If something looks good then you just go see more gameplays and read some reviews of that. I was doing that when I was searching for some games on PSP :)

About that cross-buy question - certain titles do give you the game across all platforms if you buy it once. Some games don't do that, but allow saves to work between platforms. Just have to double check what Sony actually means when they mention cross-platform compatibility pretty much every time unfortunately. :p
If you want more recommendations, I love pretty much my entire library: Freedom Wars, Soul Sacrifice Delta, Tearaway, Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Gravity Rush, Little Deviants, Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale, Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, Super Monkey Ball: Banana Splitz, PS Vita Pets, Monster Monpiece, Flower, Ratchet & Clank Collection (if you didn't get to play them on PS2 like I didn't :( ), LittleBigPlanet PS Vita, NFS: Most Wanted, Borderlands 2 (the framerate is iffy, but it's still nice having it portable imo), Touch My Katamari
Also might want to check out the freebies and PS Mobile. Some decent stuff there. Just be warned PS Mobile is shutting down September 7th, which means you'll have to download and store anything you bought/freebies as Sony won't allow you to download them again after it shuts down.
edit: Oh and if we're talking PSP stuff too, I'd have to dig mine out and figure out what's compatible... and that's another huge list. lol
edit 2: Just bought Ragnarok Odyssey ACE off Amazon (was a bit less than PSN and came with music too). That looks pretty awesome, but obviously I can't recommend it or not yet. :)

I got my Vita TV, and I enjoy it much for the price I paid for it. :p
For the edits
edit: I haven't played much but P4G. lol I've played BOI:R, but that's not Vita only. I bought Freedom Wars and Soul Sacrifice Delta a month ago because they were 5$.
edit2: It depends on the game. Usually it tells you? I think... Most indie games are crossbuy. I believe BOI:R is PS4 and PSV.

Hardly touch my Vita. I'd suggest getting an Nvidia SHIELD instead (portable handheld and not tablet), plus if you have a compatible Nvidia GPU you can stream your Steam games from the get go.

Zero Escape 2 & 3 (yes, they announced the 3rd part on Anime Expo 2015), Danganronpa (3 games already), Tearaway, Murasaki Baby, Gravity Rush, Tales of Hearts R, Hatsune Miku, Killzone: Mercenary...
Many many more but you need to like Japanese games. Vita is a treasury of those. And I love it for that. People saying Vita is dead just don't like Japanese games, that's all.

Personally i would say no. I bought it because i wanted to take advantage of the free games being offered on PS+. Turns out most of the games weren't so great, but some were 'ok', and the device can't really do 'all that', it's overtly locked down IMHO. I use my PSP more than my PS Vita, i use my original xbox more than my ps vita. Honestly, because it's so locked down, and cannot run homebrew or emulators, it has become sort of a dud IMHO.
*Sony killed it by not letting users access the full power of it, AND especially with the overpriced memory cards. Plus i have an original PS Vita, with the oLED screen. While people say they look much nicer, the problem is that black splotches can show up on the screen (which are noticeable when you play at night, and then the screen fades to black before a scene change)

I wanted to buy a PS Vita. My old DS broke and I bought a new one so I could keep playing my games. I bought a 3DS and now I regret it. Bad games every where at crazy high prices, and Nintendo going dirtier day after day with their practices. The PS Vita is laughed at by many people but for the "few" good games available it's much more worth it.

Buy a Vita (or a PS TV), buy everything you want for it. At this point, most of the exclusives have been ported, but there's still some good stuff left. Persona 4 Golden, Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Killzone: Mercenary, Soul Sacrifice, Freedom Wars, to name a few. Also it plays PSP and PS1 games from the PSN store (most of them at least). And if you're into it, it CAN be flashed. Also buy it if you're heavy into RPGs or visuals novels and want to take them on the go.

well there are some good games on it and plus now you can mod it and overclock it to get better performance ;)

Hey
I am about to buy a PS Vita. I've seen it in the local electronic store for about 150β¬ with 8GB memory card and 10 games to download.
LittleBigPlanet PS Vita, WipeOut 2048, MotorStorm RC, Little Deviants, Frobisher Says!, Ecolibrium, Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters, Lemmings, Hungry Giraffe, Rotating Octopus
I wanted to buy a PS Vita just for the Patapon Series but I guess I just should buy a PSP, cuz it is just cheaper if I want to play Patapon only
So question as the titile - is it worth to buy PS Vita?
EDIT: I've bought PS Vita yesterday and now I want to know some cool games.
I know - Persona 4 Golden :D
EDIT 2: Does anyone know how does it work with PS3/PS4/PSVita games? I mean like Hotline Miami. It is for these 3 consoles. If I buy it on PS Vita, can I download it on PS3? Just asking
