Saw films.
I also don't like the clickers from the last of us.

Sixth Sense, Signs & Alien.
Mainly because I've watched them as child. When watching horror movies today, they don't leave much of an impression on me.

I watched Sixth Sense as a child too, it was unbelievably scary at the time, now not so much, but still a good movie.

i think the early versions of paranormal activity were pretty decent but in general i agree nothing worse than a big RED title for a crappy horror movie with crappy cgi ergo: Crocodile. and to top it off here is a trailer of Piranhaconda Facepalm why michael madsen why?!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KL1Qvs_iOBQ

I'm skeptical. A lot of times if a scary movie gets a sequel it either isn't very good or it is. but if its good, as opposed to taking that as "hey we made another good movie" they see it as "people must want 1,000,000 of these" cough cough the exorcism/exorcist movies.

Evil Dead. Watched it at my friends house as a kid. I wanted to destroy the VHS tape afterwards

I've loved scary/horror movies for nearly my entire life. The only horror film that I can recall that has ever had much of an effect on me was American Werewolf in London. I was probably eight or nine when I watched it, and I don't recall if I had nightmares... but for like a week or so after watching it, I was afraid that there was a werewolf in my closet. I also remember my older sister poking fun at me for awhile.

Aliens. I remember being really little when I saw that one. I was mindlessly rocking backwards and forwards on a little plastic horse when I started to pay attention to the TV. My parents thought that I was too young to really understand what was going on. I followed it mostly.
Let's just say that I stopped rocking and stared transfixed in fear.
That scene with the facehugger in the soundproof room, though...
Made worse by the fact that I had an overactive imagination and got regular lucid dreams without even trying (including lucid nightmares, which suck because you can't just 'tell yourself to wake up') :P
Fun times. Especially later when I discovered Silent Hill, which closely echoed a lot of themes in my lucid nightmares. That made for a great movie too <3

I hate horror movies. I won't watch them unless I can have a blanket so I can cover my face in it if needed. I also cannot watch them at night or alone. When I was a kid, the movies It, Poltergeist, Child's Play, Children Of The Corn, and Hide And Seek always got to me.. I still hate them more than any other I have seen. Some have come close.... I also really hate all of the Grudge movies...

You what??
Yeah, The Grudge, The Ring, Shutter, Dark Water, Let Me In, The Eye, The Echo...there's a whole bunch of pissweak Hollywood horror/thrillers that are remakes of awesome foreign films. Mostly they're Japanese but there's some Thia, Korean, Swedish etc...

Aahhh. yeah, I don't do research on things that will give me nightmares...

You people are pathetic. Nothing horror wise bothers me.
Now, Antichrist, a severe psychological thriller, got to me.

Oh FFS, I opened this thread just to mention Antichrist. Thanks a lot, buddy. Thanks a lot.
Seriously though, it's a great film and the imagery stuck with me for a long time. Not just the violence, either... "Chaos Reigns". Everyone who's actually able to watch it, should. Hell, I should watch it again.

Usualy I can handle every horror movie... actually I find them boring - SAW, The Ring, even original japanies... but one not so horror makes me very scared for months - Signs. Minor Spoiler The scene when shows some child party on the news and not focused shadow flash on the window... It fiils so real...

After looking at my list of movies yesterday, I was wondering, have the people of SG ever watched a horror movie that left a psychological mark on you? For me, it would be The Ring series. When I was younger, I used to love horror movies. Still do. But one movie in particular left a mark on me. The Ring. I can't pinpoint why, to be honest. But that movie, to this day, terrifies the hell out of me. I still have nightmares occasionally. In fact, I was reading the book when I was 10 years old that the movie was based off of, and I couldn't sleep for two days straight.
