A very / overwhelmingly positive indie indie games mix, at an affordable price. Yay or nay?
Great bundle after they removed that trash from it, good move on fanatical. That guy is using the funds from the game to sue people. People are interested in the game cause the guy who made it killed 2 people. Imagine being the guy that murdered 2 people, self defense or not, and making a video game based on you murdering 2 people. However you look at it, it's stupid af to support that guy.
But yeah, without it I'm interested in the bundle and I'll probably buy it.

Hang on... That guy shot 2 people in the US and then relocated to Stockholm and started making video games? Sounds fishy.
Nordic Empire Games - About Us
Edit: Granted... The name of the studio alone and particularly the About Us section already tells you quite a bit about them but I still think you misunderstood something here.

Fishy doesn't mean unrealistic. People have emails and all now. They can communicate without being in the same country.

Coincidentally I have already read this article since it's the only thing that comes up when you google "Kyle Rittenhouse Sweden".
As far as I can tell the only relevant information in this article is that neither Nordic Empire Games nor Kyle Rittenhouse responded to Claire Goforth's inquiry regarding their alleged relationship.
Other than that it basically just says that some obscure right wing "politician" (more like political activist or troll - because in my eyes you need some sort of relevancy to be considered a real politician) is making a troll game based on the events.

When people don't respond to such a simple and non invasive question, that's pretty much a reply.
(more like political activist or troll - because in my eyes you need some sort of relevancy to be considered a real politician)
In France, we literally had a professional troll run for president after the media basically gave him the idea. He was in the polls months before he announced he was running. They used him for clickbait because fear sells and made him believe it was that easy.
He ended up with less than 8% of the votes, thank the Gods but the leap from twitter troll to politician is unfortunately not a huge one anymore, thanks to social media and the news media getting their topics from it.
But yes I do agree, this article is already pretty biased and tends to inflate things for clickbait... shocking, right?
Comment has been collapsed.
In my opinion that means absolutely nothing. Of the top of my head I can think of at least 3 possible reasons for this.
a) Neither dailydot.com nor Claire Goforth are important enough to merit a response since there is no publicity to be made here due to lack of reach.
b) The inquiry was phrased in a way that made it clear this wasn't an opportunity for free publicity but rather an attack piece.
c) There is actually some kind of connection, financially or personally between Nordic Empire Games and Kyle Rittenhouse.
Comment has been collapsed.
You're not wrong it does mean absolutely nothing, there's multiple options, what fluffster is saying though is that when someone is asked a yes or no question after what happened, but they can't be bothered to reply, it highly implies that they are trying to stay neutral to avoid having to say yes, because they know that being involved would be negative publicity, so therefore saying "No we are not connected at all!" would've actually been good publicity instead because they know there's an audience that would mind that connection, so for the audience that minds that connection, now this highly means they are most likely connected but keeping it secret. But yeah, sure, it could mean they're not, they just don't want to list any of that info anywhere, because it would do them .... good? Wait that makes no sense, why would someone not want something good?

so therefore saying "No we are not connected at all!" would've actually been good publicity instead because they know there's an audience that would mind that connection
It would have been good publicity to people who would have never bought the game in the first place - since it's pretty obvious what the game is about - while at the same time antagonizing those who actually might.
Now that I think about it there was nothing to gain for them by a denial; while confirming a potential relationship, if it actually exists, would have most likely scored them bonus points from their target audience.

But maybe they might have bought other games from the studio in the future, now they have all the inclination to not buy anything from Nordic Empire Games because who knows where the money is going. Is it to those 3 devs, is it going to someone to sue people? Who knows right? I wouldn't want to support(at least on purpose) someone suing to silence others because he doesn't like their opinion. And if there was clarification that indeed there is absolutely no connection then when someone wants to buy on of their games then someone might not try and prevent someone from buying the game(or anything else from the studio).
Comment has been collapsed.
You're right about this kind of people desperately needing attention so any publicity would be good publicity so you would think they would be quick to say yes if there was a connection.
On the other hand, they need stores to sell their games to make money and just judging from the fact the game was retired from a bundle means they might want to avoid a stated connection in the future if they want to keep making money off the game.
Oh and here's a blue heart for you too. It's really nice being able to discuss things peacefully on the internet from time to time.

That is entirely possible.
Or the free awareness of their game from this form of outrage marketing will make them more money with 90% off sales directly from steam than bundles would simply because right wing gamers wanna make a point.
I've once seen somebody (I think it was the infamous Starwhite) buy a "game" developed by the equally infamous JustSeedy at full price just to troll the rest of SG for making fun of Seedy.
If I remember correctly the game was called DropBall and it was exactly what the name suggested: a 2D game where you controlled a falling ball with left / right trying to avoid platforms on it's descent π
While I have stopped entering giveaway a couple of years ago when I hit 20k (after the server reset) I still appreciate it.

lol for sure I'm sure they get all the publicity they want on the MAGA subreddits. Most of the positive reviews for the game comes from people with less than 20 mn of gameplay.
Ah Starwhite. Kinda miss them. Always good for a laugh. Probably not an intended one though.
Wow a nice even 20K. Really impressive. I would stop at 60K but I don't like 6 (I have a weird hate affair with some numbers) so I guess I'll have to go to 70K. Boo to me

I get it. I love that my apartment number is 13 and I have a vague distrust of the number 7 π

Finally someone who is not triskaidekaphobic! I was living for a long time at #13 and I had friends who literally didn't want to visit me for that reason.

Heh it's 6 and 9 for me but ironically I have no problem with 69 (I know, I know, it was an obvious one :P)

Triskaidekaphobic π€ while I have about as much chance of pronouncing that correctly as Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious I like it π
On an completely unrelated sidenote I really hate that the pondering smiley here on SG looks so stupid. I like how it looks on WhatsApp but here I always worry it's so small that peoply mistake it simply as a sad or angry face π

Originally an Edit turned standalone reply: Yeah... Starwhite was a complicated person... while I didn't have a problem with him like many people here - and he repeatedly tried to make ammends - he always seemed a bit bipolar. (unless I'm merging 2 people in my memory there...)
but who I really think is missing from this place is Skankhunt π that guy always made me laugh.
I actually thought he was permanently suspended but apparently he just turned creeper.

Starwhite was actually on my whitelist for the whole first year I was here. Then he blacklisted me (still no idea why) and then whitelisted me. We're all complicated I think in some ways.
Also yeah SG smileys are hit and miss, mostly miss, with or without the magnifier needed to see them properly

Tells me what exactly about them? Am I supposed to believe an "about us" 100% like all the sponsors etc. You think coca-cola lists all their sponsors and shareholders anywhere? You think amazon lists any of their sholders other than bezos and his ex wife? What if he sponsors the company and receives profit from that? What if they asked him if it's cool to make the game and he was like totally cool with it? The names of the three individuals working on those games aren't listed nor do I think the company is publicly listed somewhere so I can see all three of their names. I wouldn't know if they're friends either, and lastly that's why I said "However you look at it, it's stupid af to support that guy." because you shouldn't promote what happened there in the first place.
17 at the time, he crossed 2 states if I'm right, with a gun he didn't own bought over by a friend, a gun that just so happens to be an assault rifle, pretty damn big for your starting toy, purposefully going to a protest when during the time they were all really bad. Did he expect himself to be safe? If he expected to be safe, why bring a gun of that size, if he didn't feel safe and need that big of a gun at 17 years old to "defend himself" why go in the first place and not leave it to the force? Just my opinion of course but I'm sure he was somewhat aware of his surroundings where was unless you would try and convince me he just woke up there and pulled the trigger in his sleep, which would sound really cute and I'm pretty sure he didn't make that claim either.
Lets say I'll give it all to you, and he has absolutely 0 connection to this game and he actually despises it because it normalizes the situation and "trauma" he's been trough. Let's say. Even then, someone still made a game regarding the guy that couldn't buy a weapon but got a big ass one from a friend, traveled over 2 us states, not your regular mcdonalds trip, to do what he did knowing where that he wasn't in a safe place. I think it's completely fine to think it's wrong to buy this game or anything that deals in subjects as such. Just my opinion but I'd like to keep fantasy fantasy, and reality away from games or at least don't turn it into a joke that promotes what happened as if it was a good thing. 2 people are still dead.
PS for some people: Thanks for the blacklists, trust me I would add you guys there if you'd just speak out, it would be easier if you just identified yourself so I can BL you too to make sure you never chicken out and remove yourself to enter my giveaways but you ain't got it in you.

I don't think they realize they're doing me a favor but I'd still prefer they would mention themselves. Also thank you for your contributions to this thread and to sg I shall return the blue heart, haven't done any whitelist giveaways so far but maybe soon :)

Hit and run BL is what I call those. But hey I wouldn't know if they mentioned themselves because those who do post, I usually already have on my ignore list thanks to the beautiful Ignore script.
Don't worry about making blue heart GAs, I don't make a lot either. It's just a good way to keep the lovely SG people on my mind

ESGST is great but it can get heavy on the browser if you use a lot of the features
I use this script just to manage an ignore list, that I found thanks to AmanoTC's thread a few months back
Works on comments, discussions, and even giveaways

It's incredible they're so easy to read and they don't realize how stupid it all sounds.
Reminds me of this video ---> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pyzg3biuz1Q
We don't want them either, we're just stuck with them.

push culture in the "right" direction
Yeah π pretty cringey...
But as far as I know there's a pretty active right scene in the nordic countries and the UK so I wasn't really surprised.
Comment has been collapsed.
That happens once in a while too but yeah when I first got it I barely figured out how to shut it down because it was a black screen, I think a game was just not closing properly but I don't remember which. Horizon turbo I think. It's been fine today but I was just installing a few more games and only played one.
Comment has been collapsed.
Well, I wouldn't be too concerned but I understand that it worried you when it was an early experience with the system.
The experience with the Deck can greatly vary, depending on the game and the version of Proton or other tools you might use to make the game run. So IMHO a black screen doesn't suggest that you have a problem with the hardware and that you should RMA your Deck.
Just keep playing more games, gain experience and experiment with your options if you run into problems with specific games. If you repeatedly run into black screen or other issues and can rule out software causing these problems, then you'd still have enough time left to RMA.
Btw. r/Steamdeck is a great place if you need help. Or to get an impression of general problems, new developments etc.

My delivery process was quite unusual, so you can't really project it on other cases.
As my Steam account is Irish, Valve only offered me to deliver it to the UK or Ireland. When I contacted support last year, they told me that a direct delivery to Germany would work.
So they sent it from the Netherlands to Ireland, a friend then sent it from Ireland to Germany. Double tour via plane, double check by customs offices and double worries that it might get lost or damaged.
The whole process lasted more than two weeks.

That's quite the twist of events. How can I check what my account is? I believe it's Romanian, as I've created it back when I lived there.

I don't understand the "praise" that game gets. With no IRL context, the video on the store makes it look like a 5-10 year old flash game with lackluster animation and framerate issues.
No way it has such value as people crying about it claim it has. Or maybe they value killing feminazi zombies more than I do.

The gameplay looks kinda fun, for lack of a better word, but it's all been done far better by far too many other games to name here. People just want to be upset because they think 'freedom of speech' means nobody can ever refuse to let them say/do what they want free of all consequences. Idiots like Trump, BoJo, and ScoMo have told them as much.
Comment has been collapsed.
Mostly meh, thought about buying Sparklite in the Steam sale, then didn't. That's the only one I'd be interested in, so... pass.

Who knew a fanatical bundle thread could get so political...
I've personally got no opinion on the removed game although with it conjuring almost 150 comments, might as well read them to be in the loop. Besides that, honestly not too bad looking of a bundle, may buy just cause of everhood alone since i didn't get the choice with it in it.
