I'd do this but I don't want to break peoples ear drums and then be sued. Trust me its that bad. When I sing in the shower I have a set of ear protectors on. I constantly have to replace cracked tiles. I found the cockatiel beating itself with a shovel one time saying over and over again "make it stop, make it stop".
The military said my voice could be classed as a weapon of mass destruction (they have been trying to figure out how to duplicate it)!

Just a brief update, I have five people with songs in the works, a teaser about the song choices, one in a country song, another a yet to be named Disney song, and finally I have someone planing on singing opera. Going is slow as songs are only linked if the singer is satisfied with their performance.

There are some talented people on steam gifts, unfortunately they also tend to be the perfectionists., I don't ask how many perfectly good songs have been shelved so far because the singer wasn't pleased with their preformance

Ha the only problem I'm having with this competition is the spam bot invites. I don't want to mistake a contestant for a bot so I have been taking all invited. On the side I am learning the spamming habits of the spam bots, One I have dubbed spammy McSpam bot sens me the exact same message at 9:00 on the dot. I'm considering keeping it as a pet

Do also note people are not in a professional recording studio, and offcourse you won't get superb quality out of it or you try to sing with headphones on that kinda mutes your own voice too or having a mic in your webcam.
And from what i heard there might be a few surprises left with other entries ;).
Besides it's karaoke not American Idols.
You try to do better first bear, before speaking about others. You say soon, you say you are a bear but i think you are
just a chicken! It takes alot of courage for some to participate.
Personally i do hope whoever wins that it would go by who sings best rather then it being something "funny".

You are missing the point that when I say 'no one is' i'm not doing it with a malicious purpose, I'm just trying to encourage people to participate too by saying that no one needs to be a good singer to participate in this ^^

Unlike you perhaps not meaning it, there are a few others saying something similar and they do sound like they mean it, some people might be more sensitive with their voice, and think i am not going to try or it's not good enough.
Well i been in a karaoke bar just once in my life, but from what i experienced people atleast try to sing their best and not try to be funny and such (okay maybe 1 or 2 drunk people but they also try their best but just don't realize they are crap).
That person who wins because of a beautiful voice just also can't participate in a next contest, and i doubt there really would just be 1 person with such an amazing voice.
Same goes as saying as whoever is the funniest might also win in other contests.
But i dont think the op atleast had plans on anything soon again from what i heard, he did have alot of work in it. I also offered the idea about a contest with people who play instruments to make a solo.

A few things to note
So far the best way to do karaoke over teamspeak seems to be with the singer listening to the song over headphones, I'll recording their voice and then add in the music in post production. Playing the music over teamspeak distorts the top end of the music. It is helpful if you chose a song that has an instrumental version already, While I can take any song and minimize the original singer, i can not remove them entirely.
I am unsure how long this competition will take, as I don't know the amount of interest there will be

EDIT 2 Someone asked me if they could record more then one song, I considered this and said, yes, but new people will be given president for recording and editing, and if you get more then one of your songs chosen by the voting at the end of the contestant, you still only win once, the top 3 singers, not songs win prizes
