Since 12 hours passed I'm guessin everybody made a thought(s) about Steam Event.

Anybody else is dissapointed it's just another Valve ploy to get our money without any fun factor - like chances for additional points for doing achievements (yes, I know about SAM, hence "additional" - like everybody can get achievs., but only people who crafted badges will have chance for free games) or even some Summer "Do stuff" Badge, like those before cards?

I find it really hard to say anything is disappointing 24 hours into it, but for me its not about these silly events. Its about the sales! These events with all this crafting crap is a way to get you to part with your money. You're not required to participate.

While I've not purchased any games yet, it's only because I own the stuff Id be interested in. Last summer I was a Steam event sale noob, so I went batshit insane. Winter wasnt as fruitful and I expect this summer to be even less fruitful.

The only thing thats annoying me so far is that theres nothing I want at a good enough discount, yet seeing games like Xcom, The Witcher, Far Cry 3, all of which were discounted a year ago and then Winter and then now on the first day don't give me much confidence but still its only the first day. The events are just a marketing ploy, which I can ignore if I want to.

Id have bought 5-6 games Thursday if I didnt own them already lol.

Every sale on any digital service and you have the same kinds of comments.
some like it, some don't and many are indifferent. What can any company do to make everyone happy? Gog gives out a free game during their sales and people complain. Its just the nature of the sale. If people aren't finding a way to exploit coals or badges or whatever, they look for pricing mistakes, or some things to not be happy about.
Generally though I think most people don't care or are indifferent and so the voices that get heard are usually the negative ones.

Dynasty Warriors and Prison Architect are both really tempting.

I've gotten games I want at steep discounts. If this is a "plot" to get our money, it's an effective one. No, I'm not disappointed at all.

I have to say as boring as the Adventure event is, it's brilliant. Even at 3 cents a card, Steam's prolly made over $20,000-just for the basic cards.

It's was a lot easier to tell before they went to this crappy buy order system.

The money I spend crafting badges for low chance of winning a game is pretty high, better by the games instead spending it on cards

Also, if you wsnt to get cards from voting, you have to be level 8 on your Steam profile. Many people have profiles with like 1 game (Dota 2, TF2) and they are level 1,2,3,4 and get nothing (unless if they reach level 8).

I miss the achivement events :( Now it's just competition to see which team will give Valve the most money for nothing.
