Do you feel guilty for not giving some of your games the attention they deserve?
I definitely resemble your opening paragraphs. As an rpg fan myself I know how long it takes to really give an rpg game your best attention (usually at least 100 hours). I definitely feel guilty when I win another SG game and think that pulling back on entries is a great idea for myself. Reaching out to the donators of won games when you play them is also another great idea..let's them know their gift was appreciated. You do what feels best for you (and thanks for the giveaways...I weakened and put points in two)

Ah, deffo agree with you. And no problemo for the points ;)

I had that very conversation with myself some time ago. Since then, I only enter specific giveaways, so my entries are down by about 90%. The problem is that I still keep winning. P
I am trying to work myself up to the "don't enter anything at all" stage, but it's difficult. It's fun to enter, it's fun to win, and if I ever had time to play my wins, that would be fun, too. My life obviously needs adjustment (starting with a decent job).

Oooh, man, absolutely!!
Welp, judging by your stats, you deffo need some rearangements. Dunno would it be job or something else, but if you indicate it as the starting base - I'd say go for it. Easier said than done, I know, but we all find words of comfort and inspiration to be of great help, don't we? :)

Hahaha, applied yesterday... Feels like I am seeking professional help xD

I'm in the same boat. I'm nearing 500 games but I've managed to play only about 10%. I've been focusing on my SG wins lately and some other games in my library, but I'll probably have to stop since exams are here. Thanks for the train!

I feel a bit guilty for not playing Total War: WARHAMMER yet, because it seems this is a popular game and I'm guessing many people would be interested in playing it immediately. But I do not want to start another strategy until I finish Stronghold Crusader 2 (also won on SG), so it has to wait a bit more.
Many thanks for the train! And good luck with your backlog :-)

Ah, I feel ya, man!
Don't hop on the next one before you finish it, fight the urge, because it Stronghold clearly keeps your attention :)
You are very welcome and thanks! I hope I will make it better, although, I already improved quite a lot :)

Totally agree with you. I feel guilty because I want to play all my wins right away, sadly the time left after the "real life" game sometimes is close to non existant. But I'm working on it and I have a schedule for them. By the other side, I feel ok because the games I entered are in my interest to play them, not just to +1 or farm cards. Indeed, I have the opinion that cards and levels are cancer and killed the real gaming experience. Steam is just a company that is doing their job: sell, sell, sell, win money, win money, win money, and they took advantage of small devs to push them to make trash games with cards because people just want cards :( I don't see they stopping in any foreseable future, but just dealing with particular devs who can't accept negativity in their games, like Digital Homicide. Meanwhile, we, the users of their service, should think seriously why we starting to use Steam: to play games or to show off a digital number known by just a fews in the world?

Well, I dunno, I like cards... Namely - I'd never would have bought Witcher 3 GOTY if I had no cards, because right now, even a 5eur game is out of my budget, and 25+eur games were ALWAYS out of my budget living in a third world country
But yes, the problem is somewhat in the cards and the whole fame, or should I say habit, around them. The solution to it is to manage the greed. What I mean is - there is a time and place to grab games for cards, but for me - SG isn't one of them.

Hello all,
this is your Inquisitor! Settle down, I am not here to prosecute you, instead, I am here to prosecute ME!
There comes a time when we realize we have so little time, yet so many games; so many games we haven't even touched yet, or there is a time when that particular thought is always on our mind, all the time... That is what happened to me.
Now, some will say how there is no such thing as "too many games", with which I wholeheartedly agree, but I am not saying there is too many games, I am saying that I have too many games.
I've been winning on SG, winning elsewhere, heck recently I won four games in just three days from different sources of giveaways! And I've come to a realization... I am hooked on winning!
Winning makes me feel great, and something about having games, knowing they are in our library, is inexplicably present with us all (especially during some nasty sales!) Oooooh, Imma buy this sucka, been wanting this game since forever, now I'll have it and I will play it sometimes...
Now, don't get me wrong, I've never entered a GA without an intention to play the game eventually , at least try it out, but it all lead to a situation where I cannot play the won game in the next two or three months, sometimes even more! Plus, I love RPG games, so imagine how much time a won game has to wait now that I have Fallout 4 or Baldur's Gate or... you get the picture :) I don't want to merely fire up the won game only to rack up some minutes so that the GA holder can see that I've played it, I want to enjoy it to its fullest, because that's why I've entered his GA in the first place!
It's hard to resist a great sale and a great GA with very few entries! ;)
I've come to a situation where I'd hop from a game to another game and not beat any of them. I do enjoy them but it frustrates me that I don't finish them if I already like them! And I started thinkin' how it was back in the day when I didn't have money, nor I had internet... I had a lot less games, hell you could count them on your fingers, and I'd beat them - one by one...
Therefore, I have decided to cut back on entries, A LOT, and only enter new AAA games that I won't be able to afford in the next years and maybe some rare gems xD But mostly - to catch up with all my games, all of them that I want to play, that I want to beat!
Some of you already practice this and some of you don't. And I admire most the philosophy of "only take what you need"
Thanks to anyone who read my little rambling right here and thanks to everyone who is still reading to this point :D
Now, as promised, a humble little train...
The Giveback train (#firstworldproblem train)
