Which staple food powers the better bundle poll options: potato, passata or avocado?

[Very happy] In terms of value, the Choice is our last recurring ray of hope. The undisputed Midnight Express of quality gaming. IGN doesn't exactly Save The World โ€“ Nobody does! โ€“ but they sure provide me with stuff to play.
[Sorta satisfied] It's worth a buy for ELEX / Rome alone, but I'm not very convinced that I'd enjoy any of the rest.
[Neutral] Now that publishers like Square Enix don't partake in cheap bundles no more, we have to contend with the likes of THQ. It could always be worse, I guess?
[Disappointed] Another month, another skip. These don't look like the genres I usually dive into with great excitement.
[Offended] Last month's canceled From Space is back? Get that Gunk off my screen! No way I'm buying this bundle.
[Coupontato] You know how it is. $7 or $6 and I'm in, $12 and I'll pass. Same procedure as every month, reallyโ€ฆ
[Gamepassata] Long after I finished them on Game Pass, these feel like uncooked video-game purรฉe that's merely been strained of seeds and skins. Perhaps I should rethink my life choices and cut down on those subscriptions?
[JustWantToSeeTheWorldBurnocado] Why don't HB try an advent calendar bundle instead of a Choice in December? For $24, there's 24 doors to open. Each door can be opened for 48 hours, after that you lose your chance. 6 of them contain coupons, 2 contain e-books. The remaining 16 of them are Steam keys (75% AAA, 25% Humble Originals), but half of those expire within three months, while the other half are only in stock two days a week.

Hopefully i can rejoin with a coupon. I want to try Nobody Saves the World, Midnight Fight Express, The Gunk.

Interested in Expeditions: Rome and The Pale Beyond. The latter is another one of those games that went from minimal discounts to bundled in one fell swoop. The game released this year, has good ratings and never went below 30% off(~13 EUR). Now they sold out for like 50 cents / key, maybe even less.

Why is this practice so common? Does Humble refuse to feature smaller indies that had real discounts before going the bundle route? I kind of doubt it.

Mexico buyer:

Expeditions: Rome (LATAM/RU/CN/IN/TR): https://steamdb.info/sub/648603/
ELEX II (LATAM/RU/CN/IN/TR): https://steamdb.info/sub/648600/
Midnight Fight Express: https://steamdb.info/sub/487923/
Nobody Saves The World: https://steamdb.info/sub/503038/
The Gunk: https://steamdb.info/sub/365714/
Last Call BBS: https://steamdb.info/sub/532930/

I didn'tactivate From Space or The Pale Beyond, but those did not have region warnings when trying to gift the key.

And damn those THQ Nordic region locks.

Edit: Seems I didn't get the DC thing.

Every time there's a new bundle, I wonder whether you get ROW subs or not. It's kind-of 50-50...

Don't forget the random "Run only in these countries" subs. I can deal with activation locks, even if I hate them, but run locks are just plain evil.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

While that is true, run locks also do only last 90 days after successful activation, so with a little bit of time, they basically deal with themselves. ^^

I still haven't seen any official confirmation of that being true.

I just don't want to end up losing access to some games after I leave this country and move to the US.

Well you gotta take my word for it since this is not something officially communicated by Steam/Valve.

I am in Germany where a lot of games were and some still are banned for too much violence and so on (technically most of them aren't really banned but that's another topic). Some of those games come with a run lock ("prohibitrunincountries"), for example Sleeping Dogs Definitve Edition. I bought and activated that game in Austria and exactly 90 days later it got unlocked and I can install and play it in Germany ever since.

Also there's the german Steam group for UNCUT! where this is common knowledge after testing it out in 2015. They even mention it in an english FAQ/tutorial:

What is prohibitrunincountries?
This tag encompasses an activation block of keys and gifts, and a start and download block with certain IP addresses. Steam checks the IP address each time the client is launched.

Whitelists, the activation and usage restricted to certain countries, exist through the onlyallowrunincountries tag. Gifts from cheaper priced regions like Russia, China, or Brazil have whitelists set by default.

It appears that start and download restrictions are no longer effective 90 days after activation (see here).

Source: https://steamcommunity.com/groups/foruncut/discussions/7/1679190184070766352/

And I've seen it mentioned by people from all over the world again and again. So it's not limited to Germany or something like that.

At least, we'll get games from Humble Games every month, and this month is Midnight Fight Express.....
The coupon is very useless. Buying from Steam Sale is cheaper.

I feel silly for buying Expeditions: Rome last month for the record low price. it happens I guess otherwise a decent month for games.

Good month for me. I did not have any of the games and all can be played single player solo. I bought the $99 annual plan, so it is worth $8.25 each month. I will be keeping all the games. Humble Choice is now my main source for new games :)

ITAD is live.

I have 4 on my wishlist, and am most looking forward to The Gunk as an adventure game, though I might enjoy Nobody Saves the World more. Glad I got the 2 month for $6 each coupon last month.

Also, kinda sad to see Zachtronics last game here: Last Call BBS. Even if I could only really get into Exapunks, Nerts!, and his solitare sub-games, I really admired his work.

I had bought Expeditions : Rome before it even came out, great game, a shame the developers shut down, still, at six dollars, the monthly is worth it for Elex II alone.

I had no idea that they closed. But even worse is that that they joined another studio focusing on NFT games.

Try pause, or if you don't have any active subscription just wait one week or two and you should start receive Humble Bundle mails with offers.

This month looks good, i guess it will take them two weeks.

just wanted to mention that you should avoid picking lone ruin with the coupon. game is super mid and is a roguelike with no replay value. it was a game expecting leaderboards to make it replayable, but it just is awful. the core concept is fine, if maybe a little basic, but its like a third of a game and really needed more areas alongside enemy/boss variety.

Despite only keeping 2 games from this, and considering a third... one of the better choices so far for those who trade.

for what is it... 8.25? with annual I have gotten 2 game activations, $12 steam wallet, sitting on an expeditions rome key(activation/trade/giveaway fodder) and from space(likely giveaway material)
