I like when a game uses offensive images, it adds that, how to tell, strange feeling that something is wrong, but it's nice too.
¿Why the hell would i want to play a game that is exactly like the reality? I want a game to be a hell of a reality, i take much more entertainment from that. So please bring back chaotic games that could give me nightmares, becouse i enjoy playing in a different place than the reality.

+1 to the OP for making 80% of the people responding look like gullible fools.

Someone has started to talk about racism in Resident Evil 5 (even before the game was released) but the game clearly has no racist element. As well as what Bobofatt said, in the game there isn't just a white man who kills black people, a white man and a native African are protagonists, and more non-white people have positive role.

Are you drunk, xar? Reading too much Kotaku lately? :P

thats the op's point. the internet is crazy and you'll always find some ridiculously oversensitive madman to call something racist(and they're right. just because it wasn't intended as racist doesn't mean it wasn't racist subconsciously. its called latent racism and that sort of thing has to be pointed out and corrected for their own good. intent is irrelevant if somebody can manage to bend over backwards to find offense then its offensive.)

There are real world issues, who cares about Video games.

Not sure what to make of this - theres nothing racist in any of this except the post (OP) itself. It looks sorta like an ad to get people to sign up for this DICE thing by trying to stir up a racial hornets nest - except that theirs no nest, lol. In any case, whatever pixels need killing, need killing, whatever their pixel race happens to be.

How the fuck killing black africans in RE5 racist? Those zombies (africans) are trying to kill the protagonist, being racist is not the first moral dilemma that you will think if your life is in danger.
You have the right of nature, meaning you can do whatever you can do preserve yourself or one's life. Can we say that zombies still have life? debatable since it hasn't happen yet in real life, but still, even they have a life, they are trying to eat you, thus killing them is perfectly reasonable.
I haven't played stanley parable "yet" but thanks to these, I will be downloading it asap and set it to not automatically update to see this supposedly racist picture

so... are they patching the game because someone gets offended by a pic?... how is this going to end? games where you are a grey alien, killing other grey aliens with boring speeches about tolerance!?...
also, VERBAL BLACKFACE... i remind that thing from the tiny tina's "she talk like a black guy, and it's wrong because potato" thing... it was even more funny since you can pick a lot of things to get offended with that character, a lot...
anyway, great topic, btw, Xarabas is professor of sarcasm of the international sarcasm university.

"I received two separate complaints today from people who found that the images made them significantly uncomfortable," Wreden said in an email to Polygon, "and in one case made a teacher feel unable to share the game with her young students."
...
"I'm not exactly married to the visual gag there," Wreden said. "It doesn't make or break anything about that particular section, and we always wanted the game to be something that could be played by anyone of any age. If a person would feel less comfortable showing the game to their children then I've got no problem helping fix that! It's really as simple as that."
That seems pretty reasonable to me, especially if you take the bolded parts into account. That picture is hardly the most offensive picture on the internet, but I can see how you wouldn't want to be the teacher who's showing it to a classroom full of kids; and given that the author intended for the game to be something that could be shown to kids, I can see how they'd decide to change it once it's pointed out to them.
Everyone in the article you linked to is being reasonable, so I'm not sure why you're freaking out and waving your hands and making these exaggerated claims about what happened...? Obviously not every game in the world is supposed to be appropriate for kids, but it's the developers' call on whether they want to aim for that, and obviously if they wanted the Stanley Parable to be something you could show to a classroom full of elementary school kids it was a mistake to include a picture of someone being lit on fire.

Chances are if you ever bought Resident Evil 5 or Borderlands 2, you did. If you thought that killing black people in Africa and using "oh but they're just zombies" is a valid excuse or a white girl using ghetto talk is perfectly fine by your standards (because we all know how that type of communication is reserved for African Americans and no one else)then i would strongly advise you to check your privilege. Someone even made a handy Android app just for that
The latest example in this despicable trend is now Stanley Parable. Look at this ingame picture and tell me that there is nothing wrong with it. Now i imagine you're all probably brimming with rage so let me just explain you why you should be mad and scream for demanding of social justice in the first place. You see, there is nothing wrong that a grown man is setting a kid on fire, the problem here is his skin color (and i'm pretty sure the situation and public outrage would be the same if the roles were reversed, r-right?)
I bet you're all probably asking yourself what can i do at this point except nagging on the internet while trying to make a controversy out of nothing but! - that's where you would be wrong. With enough commitment and a lot of free time there is a chance that DICE might just hire you to work on a Mirror's Edge sequel with insightful unbiased advices or get a job in many of the Gawker media affiliates - the possibilities are almost endless.
So whenever you see a Black, Asian or Australian character in a videogame you should ask yourself why is he/she there in the first place if they don't have a leading role in providing a social commentary, we don't want you to play games just to have fun, that would be crazy!. Next time you see a videogame that you might like, dont just blindly buy it. Do some research, be sure to overanalyze everything and if that process you tend to separate a fiction from the reality, who cares? It's part of the package
tl;dr
If you buy Stanley Parable before they patch it, you are most likely racist
