It did and has one of the better F2P models. No class, race, or content locks and progression speed is not crippled for free. Can even earn premium currency as an uncommon drop. They are also doing their first Halloween event this year. It uses action combat and most attacks are skillshots. All classes can be built for either healing or tank along with all having dps builds. They did alot of Quality of Life improvement with the F2P patch too.
For pvp there is Planetside 2 and Heroes of the Storm, I am not big on pvp so do not know many.
If want a dTCG there is Hex, by Cryptozoic (same people as WoW TCG). It is kind of what MTGO dreamt to be with mechanics that would be hard to do in physical. Right now it only has PvP (and a 100k$ tournament running right now) and 1 PvE dungeon which is more of a demo of future PvE which is a whole big campaign expected sometime this year with hero leveling, gear, gem socketing, ect. Of the ones tried it is the only dTCG not a pale shadow of physical ones. And if was avoiding it due to a Lawsuit by Wizards of the Coast, it was settled last month.

You probably already played it but Guild Wars 2 is free now too. The expansion comes out this week and it costs money but that's mainly if you get to max level or want the new profession.

I wanted to try Wildstar, but it gives me warning that my RAM doesn't meet min. req., I only have 3gb. Would it still be enough to play it on low settings, do you think? With my slow internet, wouldn't wanna spend a lot of time downloading it just to find out I can't run it at all!

I recommend Loudout. Last time I played it was a couple months ago and the game was quite fun. I would recommend TF2, but the game is slowly dying out.

Well..not exactly dying out, but the market simply isn't as good as it was. Idling is long gone, and the market simply just sucks. I takes like 20+ refined metal to just get one key, I remember when it used to be only 4-5 to get one key. It's not dying out, but it seems to be that some people are loosing interest in TF2.
When I mean dying out I mean slowly dying out. The game isn't just going to drop right out of the sky in one year. All i'm saying is people are loosing interest and the game is going to die at one point or another.

While I do agree with the trading aspect, I am not sure if the game is any less fun today than before. In fact its got more people playing the game and more game modes, maps, etc.
I bought my first keys at 2.5 ref each. Got enough metal to get my strange machina, which I then sold at a huge profit a few years later. So I made use of the trading while it was good. But even without trading, I reckon the game is heaps of fun. I don't play it anymore because I prefer CS competitive. But if TF2 gets competitive, I will give it another try for sure.

i tried out last time, found zero matches after minutes of waiting
it was the point when I simply uninstalled the whole thing and forgot about it

he said "off steam". Of course you have to pay for the Steam version. However, you can easily play it for free online. :)

black desert in few days (it will be f2p and release is in few days) :D

It's in beta, and will be free once out. It's a light version of smash brothers.

I guess I need to recommend TERA.
If you like MMORPGs but dislike the "don't move and just click" kind of combat that Rift and Guild Wars 2 have, it's a must-try. It can be played PvP, but I personally only played in PvE. It's an "open world" MMORPG with live action combat (not sure if that's how you call it). As an example, the combat is somewhat similar to Darksiders, probably.
I played up to level 30+, then dropped it to play some other games for a bit. I don't know if I'll get back into it, but it was enjoyable while I played it. It's a fun game, and surprisingly good for a F2P. Absolutely no premium bullshit which gives advantages to players. The only things which will require you to spend real money is cosmetic items such as suits, dresses and whatnot, and these won't affect your game.

I like Warface.
Just be aware that there's a lot of cheating that goes on in these F2P games, especially FPS ones.

League of legends.
The most populated online game in the world. Basically PvP and not a Pay-to-Win one.
World Championship is now being held so I can see the latest top player's play on twitch.
It's not a steam game since you didn't specify it, but you can add it to your steam library if you want.

I don't recommend APB, it is a fun game, but the community these days is toxic, you will not enjoy yourself. I do recommend Path of Exile, great free to play ARPG. Also I recommend Dirty Bomb, a competitive team based FPS that is very fun. Another good one is Robocraft, lots of fun, build your machine then take it into battle, kinda a 3rd person vehicular combat game. Team Fortress 2 is always fun to kill anywhere from 30 mins to several hours, that's about the extent of my free to play knowledge, I play them all and highly recommend them. One warning though, Path of Exile is very difficult, and requires a large time investment, all the others are easy to jump in and play for a bit except for PoE.

I don't know if it's still good (Since I haven't played in two years), but Atlantica Online is one of my favorite MMOs of all time. It has a turn-based combat system with some strategic depth to it. Most premium items are either cosmetic or just help you level up faster and they don't give any advantages in PVP. You can get premium items with the game's currency as well.
Stay away from IGG games, not only are their games sort of bad, they are basically pay 2 win.

Atlantica Online as many other MMOS would be awesome, if only the steam version wouldnt be region locked for US users only ><

Warframe. I used to play it a lot, stopped playing it for lack of time. It has one of the greatest communities and is fun as hell IMHO.

I play a bit of Heroes and Generals [ http://store.steampowered.com/app/227940/ ].
It's a good WW2 FPS, including tanks/planes. It takes quite a few hours to get good weapons, but you can pick up weapons when the enemy/team mates die.

I like APB but the game runs like crap for what you get and the company behind it is fucking useless.
Heroes and generals was actually really fun when i tried it.
Dota 2 can never be wrong!
Pah of exile is fun but i'm done with the game myself.. For now!

if you're not allergic to card games, Hearthstone is pretty good. And it's very possible to get a solid collection over time without paying anything.

I've been playing Star Trek Online for some time. The best stuff is behind a paywall, but you can acquire ZEN (the "premium/real money" currency) by playing the game, and there is pretty much no competitive play, so you can't say it's "pay 2 win", as there is no actual "win" conditions.

I am in STO for 3 years now. In stuff he means fancy ships. All ingame gear and events is completely F2P. It is a grind mmo tbh. But if you like spaceships you may want to try it. I can confirm that the game is quite F2P Friendly, i am completely silver account with quite a few premium ships actually :D
Comment has been collapsed.
Yes, I was referring to fancy high-level ships (there are 3-4 yearly events that give a free top tier ship unlock too) Also, subscribing for a single month when leveling your characters (or when they are fully leveled), will unlock quite a lot of things (bank space, inventory space, bridge officer slots, max credit limit and stuff), that you keep when the sub expires. That's not bad as well. :D

Hello dear fellas, basically, I'm looking for a good free to play multiplayer game. I don't really care if it is a shooter, rts, mmorpg or whatever, as long as it is good. Preferably with a nice combat system, and a good pvp. Someone told me to try Warframe, another friend told me about Guild Wars 2 (I gave it a try, but I don't like it that much...) and there is also APB... Any suggestion guys?
