hm it looks like i got both in the last year. Kinda sad because this means we can't create a character in saints row the third and continue with the same character in saints row 4 anymore right?

I think that can just check for saves, no need for online features to do that. This is a different feature, where your character can be saved for later, and even uploaded to others.

I just know I didn't do anything in at least one of the games (and probably both), and had no problems getting my character from 3 to GooH. GooH doesn't even use the system, but still imported from the previous game, which is why I'm confident that it just relies on saves.

Achievements can go to hell, even if I had the game(s), there's no way in hell I'd compel myself to play them in such short window of time just to get the achievements. Tying trophies to online services that are bound to be discontinued (eventually) was a huge oversight from the game makers, this not the first or last time it would happen. Games are to be enjoyed, not to end up like work.

For me creating a new character was part of the fun in the Saints Row games so I never bothered to use that service and I'm not going to reinstall them just for those two achievements.

Damn, good thing I saw this thread Saints Row is one of my favorite franchises (only got on steam last year and haven't played it there yet) so I will definitely need to launch it up and share my character XD

u can use cheating software on steam - but if u unlock this achievement after 31 January - everybody will know that u cheat. And what about console version? Do u have SAM for PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360? 😲

Happened with Arkham Origins too, its multiplayer was supposed to shut down on Dec 2016, it eventually lasted a few months longer.
