Thank you :D I had none of these games.
Bought the $1 tier and then paid $4.90 for Oxenfree, Day of the Tentacle, Titan Souls, and Massive Chalice.

I assume there's no way to buy this, but give away one of these games. I don't really want massive chalice.
Still, 3.85 euros for tentacle + oxenfree, seems like a reasonable/decent deal, even if Chalice goes to waste..

Individual price of the 4 items you don't already have: $79.96
Bundle discount: 93%
Your cost: $5.60
I own Grim Fandango Remastered, Titan Souls and Oxenfree.

Well, in theory you can.
1) Buy everything you don't want separately
2) Buy bundle
3) Refund what you bought in step 1
I have heard this actually works,
but of course this is definitely abuse
and can lead to ban from refunds
so I wouldn't want to test it myself
Might be fine for one game tho.

Thanks, got Day of the Tentacle, Oxenfree and Massive Chalice for $3.53, better value even if you consider it only 3/7 of the games. Not a glitch if it's been up this far, they really just want to make sure people who already have some of their games will buy the rest as well so the steam bundle is the perfect medium for that.

$3.50 for Titan Souls, Oxenfree and Tentacle. Most excellent.

I wonder if Steam has a reason to be pissed at humble too. That Saturday humble release was super unexpected and really came out of nowhere when they went two weeks back to back with nothing this month. Maybe Humble did have this planned for Tuesday, but caught wind of Steam's distribution for the bundle and released early to pick up as many sales as they could knowing customers aren't going to purchase it from them when 90% would get the better deal from Steam.
I imagine very few people who bought that third tier are even able to use that VIP ticket and that most considered it a loss to get the game they wanted relatively cheaper. On top of that, there are all kinds of people with only a few of those games and most probably didn't buy to giveaway or trade but to pick up what they didn't have anyway, so that's an even bigger hit for humble.

Why do you assume that it has anything to do with Steam? It's the publishers who decide if games get a sale and decide about the discounts. And nobody else but them.
And the Humble Bundle came online on a Saturday, because the "Day of the Devs" is on Saturday, one week later.

I think something might have been lost in my post there. The reply kinda reads nonsequitur to me, where it seems directed at what I'm saying, but not really rebutting or explaining what I mean (and not necessarily anything I disagree with).
This isn't a situation I'm assuming as given. Maybe that idea came from the opening sentence about "steam... being pissed at humble 'too'"? If so, that "too" was just meant as a reply to thread speculation wondering about humble being angry with steam--I didn't intend for it to come off asserting confirmation of the first scenario while pondering a second.
Aside from that, I figured the rest of my post read pretty explicitly as speculation. But to reiterate, I'm wondering about the possibility that both Steam and Humble were contradicted to release similar bundles (not that.. whatever you think I implied like some price match) with potential conflict arising from uncertainty whether both parties were aware of each other (at the time of negotiation at least), and whether time-frames were explicitly defined or maybe relatively vague (with just presumptions of normal release schedules for simultaneous release), either leading to some breach resulting in these unusual circumstances.
That's not to say that these circumstances necessarily indicate anything outside of face value here (releasing a week before the event would also explain an abnormal Saturday release). When talking possibilities scenarios and raising those questions of 'what might," I just always find it cumbersome going out of the way to explicitly validate the null scenario as possible when that question of "what might?" does the legwork suggesting "might not" as the inherent possible alternative.

That's awesome, I got Day of the Tentacle for 1,19$(CND). Although I wish I saw that earlier as I got BTA and all I was missing from it was Oxenfree... Oh well more games to giveaways:) Thanks for the heads-up, I really wanted Day of the Tentacle and for that price it's definetely a steal!

hmm tempting for Oxenfree, should be able to get the others cheaper in the Double Fine Bundle hmm

The Day of the Devs Bundle is on Steam as a bundle, and it makes for some pretty great savings.
i.e. I had everything but Day of the Tentacle and it charged me $1.05 for that.
YMMV due to the games you already own.

Good tip: If you don't have any or only a couple of these games, get the $1 tier on HB first, add them all and get lower prices on the remaining.
