Battlefield 2 modern combat. Because of its amazing single player campaign with shift system.

There is this game I love called Radiata Stories. Its a nice action RPG with 2 branching stories and lots of characters to recruit like Suikoden or Chrono Cross.
But I love many PS2 games like FFX, Valkyrie Profile 2, Gran Turismo 3, Kingdom Hearts 2, Silent Hill 2, Katamari Damaci and many more.

I got Radiata Stories free from an old friend who took piss poor care of his belongings. It was all scratched up and wouldn't play on his PS2, so he was gonna go sell it to the local game store. Anyway, I ended up getting stuck on some boss early in the game and not having another save to go back to, so I never played it again. I remember it being a pretty fun game, though. Though I'm not certain, I think I remember the boss being large and purple. shrug
My PS2 fav would probably have to be Final Fantasy X. Probably my second or third favorite of the series (after FFVIII and FFT), it really was a great game, mechanically. From the Sphere Grid, to the weapon customization system to the cool sidequests, it was just an amazing game.
Other notable favorites include the original Red Faction (probably my favorite FPS of all time) and Resident Evil: Code Veronica X (I played the DC version first, but I played the PS2 version long after I sold my Dreamcast).

The lack of Viewtiful Joe in the responses is disheartening. So I'll be the one to fix that.

Wow, i can't believe no one said Resident Evil 4.
I know there are some technically better games out there, and many hate it for making the RE series the mess it is now, but RE4 is an awesome and veeery replayable game. Runner ups for me would be Metal Gear Solid 3, Kingdom Hearts II, Persona 3 FES..and..a Silent Hill (it's hard to pick one, but maybe SH3, no 2, no 3 D:). Also Prince of Persia: Sands of Time.

I don't have PS2 and never had (i wish i do, even in 2015), but played it few times with my friend. I enjoyed playing WWE '09 very much with him, also we were playing Tekken 4 and NFS Undercover (good graphics btw). Choice of games wasn't so big, but i loved to play Def Jam Fight for NY, since i like rap and fightings! Awesome game, interactive surrounding, and great fighting methods

.hack//G.U. 1,2 and 3. Because it is giving that what SAO or Log horizon could not. Incredible good universe... I mean story. Deep, complicated and mysterious. Maybe gameplay is repetitive but graphic looks very good for PS2 and that "magic" OST
It is very recomended to play previously games .hack// (Infection, Mutation, Outbreak, Quarantine) they have very good plot too but graphic and incredible boring gameplay are very very hard to swallow ;/
My save files are telling me that I spend more than 200h on whole .hack// series :D

I like discussions, never started one here though.
My favourite would be Gran Turismo 4, so many cars available and I like the idea of doing races and making money to get cool cars. How about you guys?
