Interesting to be called a racist, just because i think there's too much focus on one group that while historically disenfranchised, is hardly the only one.
I'm simply pointing out the oddity that other minorities arent focused on as much, even while currently living in worse conditions.

Also when it comes to charity, it is the reason i ever began buying indie bundles, and specifically HB. The death of the sliders was the end of the charity focus HB. Now it's just done for advertising and self promotion. Same as promoting a new search engine because they plant trees. I's done for money, not to help anyone.

Considering the site, and it's original purpose of being more of a charity than a business, this bundle seems like a sad cash grab on the level of businesses going rainbow for pride month.

Classically i'm used to thinking of the historical disparities of race during february. Current disparities are real, but it's more between rich and poor, than one race and another.

People are too quick to accept this kind of low effort virtue signaling. But to me it reeks of manipulation and abuse of a real issue, similar to how BLM raked in money for its leaders, but still has yet to focus its messaging on police violence over classic angst over racism.

People arent going to stop hating others for petty reasons because certain words are outlawed, or attitudes are unpopular. They're just gonna find other ways to hide their hate.

I'd rather the racists stay dumb and obvious, wand allowed their own platform, so we all have something to point to and say, "dont be like that."

You make a great point about being more specific with a bundle and what it supports. Not just bundle for black history or pride month.

I wish we'd use black history month as a theme, and do the same with other months. Simply to communicate the reality of live from other large groups perspective. We at least need months for, China, India, Russia, South America and Africa. I hear some news about these places, but dont know much about their history for the past 50 years, or how it had effected the people.

Yeah, my perspective and framing are a touch extreme.

I just get sick of the fake virtue signaling, and pandering to the lowest common denominator.

The result being some kind of marketing hype, and cash grab, instead of actually achieving any positive results.
But even the theme of their focus gets lost.

Would be better to make a good bundle of games that will sell really well, and use the proceeds to benefit some kind of humanitarian effort. Plenty of areas that have actual slavery today, and they could bring attention to that.

So in the end i'm glad they say they're doing something that will help the underprivileged, but it's also kinda ridiculous.

Gameheads is a small US organization in one of the most wealthy states, in one of the most wealthy nations. So not something i'd go out of my way to donate money for, as i dont live in the Oakland area. Also, it's about underprivileged youth, not issues dealing with black history or the community.

As in, the games won't play if you're outside of the designated territories. Similar to activation locks where you can only activate the key in some countries.
