I'm going to build a new PC and i have some questions. The majority usage is for 3D modelling and rendering (architecture).
This is the rig i set: http://es.pcpartpicker.com/p/dcRGvK

Questions:

  1. Will the GTX970 be capable to run all games in middle-high settings on 1080p for 4-5 years? I don't want to spend 360€ and have to change it in 2 years...
  2. I want to do OC to de processor to reduce render times, and I read that RAM with high frequency will give me more stability. But I don't know sure, I'm planning on get a DDR4 3000 instead the 2400, but there is a difference of 30-50€ that I could spend in other components.

GA for helping:

I believe the MSI GTX 970 should be good for quite a while at 1080p. For myself, I just bought this. I have read online that for rendering workloads, the Xeon may be a better choice than the i7.
Edit: For the question of RAM, I would think that ECC ram would be the most stable, but I haven't seen anything about instability at lower speeds IIRC.

You have very good prices in USA. Here (Spain) is more expensive.
I will look for the better xeon that fits my budget and compare it to the i7 performance.
Thanks for the tip.

Well i think you should change you graphics card at least once if you want to keep it up on mid-high settings with newer games which gets more and more hungry each year... well however what is bothering me why only 1 TB hard drive i would get at least 2 TB... Also newer games are space hungry so man you really should consider getting more than just 1 TB harddrive... still depend what games you play and will be playing and graphics card i think should be enough for next 3 years on high settings or smth like that depend how much hungry games they will make in future

I have no idea about how many years will the 970 stand around. It should be fine now unless you are (and you say you aren't) a graphic whore.

I Had a 680Gtx for a while and it was still able to play 95% of the games on High 1080p combined with my I7 3770k, so a 6700K with a 970GTX will be a really great combo for game and 3D
however I'm not sure 550w will be enough if you stress your hardware

Have a bump because I don't know much about rendering

I would suggest searching for some kind of a more specialist forum on Google, since most people here are going to help you based on component efficiency in video games. I'm sure there is a forum dedicated to modelling/rendering where you'd get more helpful responses.

Thank you. I will do it.

It was somekind of excuse to give 2 games and i take the chance to solve some questions.
