Do not really have much to say.... wow, this is harder than I thought....

So, this is my first train... I always thought that it will be something awesome to celebrate some great event in my life... Alas, seems like life had another thing in mind...

Last night, when I was leaving Uni I got a call from home telling me that my 11 year old dog had just died... I know some of you may be thinking that "it was just a dog". But, after 11 years of your life sharing lots of good memories and caring for him, the bond just becomes too strong...

It was a hard hit for my family, though I suppose it may have been for the best since he was really weak lately... It was hard enough feeling the sadness within my family last night, but it was especially difficult arriving to my grandmother's home this morning and seeing his spot cleared out, with just one of his toys standing there, reminding us of a great animal who less than 24 hours ago was peacefully sleeping there, waiting for me to get home so he could see me one last time before leaving this world...

I feel like I should do something to avoid letting this slip by as if it was any random event... So, I decided to create an 11 cart train. I am sorry they are not great AAA games, but it is all I can afford atm...

Thx for all these years filled with joy... see you someday at the other side, my good fella...

PS: Feel free to bump the thread
PS2: Remember Yunie's thread :)

Edit: the Wall of Memories has appeared....

I've been trough this situation. I had a dog who was like a family member. A little brother for me who shared 12 years with us and I know how special and significant it can be. I'm sorry for your loss.

11 cars for 11 years. that's sweet, creative, and generous all at the same time. May you find comfort in friends and family during your time of loss.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I got my dog a year ago and I already noticed some times when I thought he was in danger (e.g. almost running in front of a car) that it's gonna be a painful time when he passes by or when I ever have to give him away. I don't want to think about this now but it's still some kind of inner fear planted in me :/

I guess we will always try and over protect everyone around us... but, we gotta stay strong and don't let those things hinder us from enjoying our time with them :)

As a dog lover who never got to say a final farewell to his own childhood pet/best friend, I sympathize.

He looked like a sweet, friendly fellow. I'm sure you will never forget him.

So sorry. It's hard when a pet dies. They're an important part of the family then suddenly they're not there any more. Even now, 20 years later I still sometimes think about our dog. :(

I want to thank you, you brave soul. To cope with sadness by bringing joy to others is an extremely selfless thing to do. No one who has owned a pet will every fault you for grieving over a lost one, especially after so long. And I'm sure a lot of people here have dealt with the same. Thank you, sincerely.

I have had my toy poodle since I was in third grade (am 21 now). I am terrified that every day...
Dogs are some of (if not THE) the most loving of God's creatures; they never really leave us.
SIncere-st of condolences.

What a cute dog! A pet can be part of the family and you share happy and sad moments together. Sometimes a pet can be even more comforting than a human can be... So I understand your feelings and hopefully you look back at 11 wonderful years with him!
