Hmm, i tried on several accounts and it only activated on only 2 accounts which already had one dlc.

Dont know if you had any clarification from your question a few posts above why it said DLC.
This actually comes up as DLC for "SEGA Mega Drive and Genesis Classics" when you add the free game. Even though it has its own store page.

Yeh ,someone said you might have to activate the main package before the sonic 2 dlc .
A lot here have said they get a FAIL when trying to activate via ASF.
That might be the reason.

Yeah, I know but if I remember correctly it always says that even if the game doesn't have cards. Well, maybe the formating is different because it's technically a DLC.

Are you trying to install Sonic 2 or SEGA Megadrive Classics? You'll have to install the latter.
It's just a guess but I suppose that "missing privileges" error comes from trying to install a DLC without having the base game installed.

I managed to install , somehow my steam library got damaged. (repair library option) All good now
And i actually like their front end. Its interesting and made in 3d. Not bad, Its just those xbox buttons anoying, its not even sega but xbox.. everywhere

Yeah, I like the virtual 90s kids room and how they integrated the settings and some extras with various items in the room as well 😅 Also as a kid I had like 8 - 12 Megedrive games tops so it's nice to see a whole bookshelf with almost all of them.

Yeah, X-Box control scheme has become the standard visualization for most PC games that support controllers. I'm used to it because I used to play on the 360 but I still wish they gave you the option to switch to Playstation control scheme instead.
But come to think of it I don't think there are any popular current controllers that just use 3 main buttons (A - B - C) except maybe some nostalgia SEGA replicas.

everything is made in unity , so ill probably be able to disassemble and add proper icons, maybe use it as standalone frontend (without steam and using my sega library roms) if i can find out how to open their 68k.. or maybe modify unity to accept different format
68k seems to standard uncompressed format , regardless of its weird extension. And is playable in other emulators

I didn't understand the full details, I'm not particularly tech-savvy, but if I got the gist correctly you mean you can potentially use parts of this app to turn it into a non Steam app which also works with your existing roms and replace the X-Box buttons with proper Megadrive / Genesis ones? Cool 😎
