Was just wondering, why the 1 month account requirement? I have just recently discovered and joined steamgifts, 1 week ago, but I have been fairly active, made 6 giveaways without winning anything yet, made some trades, etc, and my steam account will be 11 years old this September, so I was looking to join, but now apparently I still have to wait 3 weeks...

Yeah.. still doesn't make sense. Your account needs to be valued at at least $100 to register on this site. And you could easily make an entry requirement for say, minimum # of giveaways given away, or minimum total value of gifts given away. No one has tons of accounts worth over $100, and even if they do, they won't start making giveaways on them just to join. And if some people are really that mad, what stops them from just waiting 1 month? There's no difference in waiting for a month or a week. But oh well, it's your event, so to say, so you can do whatever you feel like, even though in my opinion this is unreasonable.

Problem remains the same, as I have described, in the two above posts. Waiting 1 month doesn't stop anyone if they are really that crazy. They could just register with all their alts right now, wait 1 month and join then. If they are really that crazy, making giveaways on each alt accounts, etc. And like I said below, I could easily be level 5 before end of a month, so it prevents people who are actually interested in doing the giveaways in joining the group.

Simply create another account and put some of the big games you play on it, take 1$ bundle and you have 2 SG accounts.
People do that, unluckily, and it's easy.
There are good people on SG but there are even bots, leechers and trolls.
We are just screening the best we could to make a safe group for low levels.
Sorry if you don't like it but when you will have more SG experience (and will suffer from this guys) I'm sure you will change your mind.

Heh xD Will have to wait I guess, though really unreasonable, as most people can get to level 5-6 in less than a month. I got like 20 games to giveaway though I was waiting for something first, if I would've actually given them away, it wouldn't be 1 month gone and I would be too high level already for this.

That example is completely irrelevant here. I offered constructed criticism, giving the reasons and pros for my opinion, and your example is just a notch short of slander (or libel, if we consider the conversation you presented happened in writing).

maybe a few of you will remember the little event me and Yunie did for the good users of level 1 and 2.
Since it came out that the idea was appreciated we decided to bring it to a new level, a semi-permanent event!
Starting from this month we will recruit users who will be invited in a Steam Group where me and Yunie will share giveaways.
Here is how it works:

N.B: Admins reserve the right to judge an account on other basis in some occasion
What does "Good profile" means?
Who will leave the group:
If you are interested in joining leave a comment below, we will check your profile and invite you if eligible. The giveaways will start after the first round of recruitment.
N.B: This is NOT a "classic" giveaway group, user are NOT required to do giveaways (but they are not forbidden)
