Thanks for making this thread. Bullying is a sensitive subject, personally I think it start at home and the way we talk and act in front of our kids. Kids will often repeat what they see, so one of the first step I think is showing the right exemple; if a kids constently hear their parents talk down and make fun of others (even when they are not there), they will most certainly act it out at school and with their friends...

Thanks for raising this issue Vampkitty!
My son is 6 and we've already talked about trying to be kind to everyone and not taking part in bullying. He told me recently that there's one kid in his kindergarten class that no one likes. Then he told me that he went out of his way to be friendly to the other kid, and that he makes sure he talks to him every day. I'm a proud dad. :)

I am making this thread to ask you all to just sit down with someone you care about and discuss bullying with them, it can be your child, sibling, a friend, whoever you want.
I admire you for posting this. I've been on both the receiving end of bullying as well as the giving end of it in my youth, and it really stems from how empathetic we are to another human being. When you start viewing life through another person's eyes, how you treat that person can dramatically change. It's up to the parents to teach and guide their children to show empathy to other kids at their school. So many kids have not been taught to love and show compassion for another person, and it's a problem that has to be addressed. :/

I was thankfully never really too much affected by bullying, mostly cause early on in highschool I'd always fight back and eventually they'd get tired of having to deal with me and would move on. Later on, I actually ended up dedicating my senior year in highschool to stop bullies whenever I'd see something occurring. The older kids should be there to protect the youngest, but sadly most don't care and don't even bat an eye and I hate it :(
Here's a big hug to you and a humble bump to your thread.

A 12 year old boy recently killed himself after being bullied constantly at school. It's sad and more common than people may think. Kids/teens/adults all alike commit suicide daily worldwide. I may get hate for this and that is fine because it needs to be talked about. I am making this thread to ask you all to just sit down with someone you care about and discuss bullying with them, it can be your child, sibling, a friend, whoever you want. Just take the time to see if not only they are okay but if they know anyone struggling. Come up with ways to help, if you see a coworker being harassed stand up for them, if a friend is being abused by a family member or significant other help them. Please don't just look away. For someone out there you may be their only hope. If you yourself are in a bad situation please seek help. Don't let it go to far. Bullying can be deadly in more ways than one. Thank you for anyone who reads this. Stay safe.
Update!
Depression and self harm has had a huge toll on my life since I was 8 years old. I know that was a young age to start feeling so hopeless but I didn't exactly have a "normal" childhood.. Over the years I have found many songs that express my feelings, thoughts, overall how depression effects me. These songs have always been my emotional outlet. If you want please listen to a few WARNING These songs are about depression and suicide
