Kässpatzen is my favorite regional dish. It's really simple though, if you're looking for a challenge you should skip this one :)
It's best with "rather hard" cheese "with a strong flavor". I use any kind of Bergkäse, but it's a regional term, I think.

Kein Problem :) Ich ziehe dieses Jahr noch nach Österreich, da werde ich wahrscheinlich qualitativ hohen Käse bekommen.

They're called "morcilla", in English is black pudding or blood sausage and as its name indicates, it is made of blood.

PS: WL too ;)

Third hungarian reply :D

Lángos, you can put everything on them (like pizza), but the original is sour cream and onion.
Töltött Paprika, same, you can put a lot of things in it.
Szilvásgombóc
Kürtőskalács, simply the best :D A lot of variants but the original is with cinnamon.
And there is still a lot, but i don't want to steal other food names :D

It's easy to find Pho, but Bun bo Hue is difficult. You have to go to a specialized restaurant for that, and I've only ever been to one. (I ordered other stuff, instead. My stomach can only fit so much at once.)

Hey xRayzen1,

since you speak german you probably know my suggestions already. I like to eat Maultaschen and Rostbraten, two tradionel dishes from south germany. There are some varieties about Mautaschen. You can eat them in a salty soup or roast them in a pan and add potato salad. Rostbraten is a roastbeef from a cattle´s back with onions and our type of noodle called Spätzle.

But don´t ask me for cooking advice, i´m only good at eating :D

When thinking of unique dishes from the USA it's hard to come up with ones that most people don't know. There's the obvious apple pie or roast turkey, both of which can be done very well or very poorly. Here's an example of the type of US cooking that I do mostly which is more of a cross cultural fusion or simply just tastes good. http://www.esquire.com/food-drink/food/recipes/a9513/waffles-and-eggs-recipe-0311/
I've made that one myself and can highly recommend it. You will need a frying pan that can go in the oven in order to do it right though (I use a cast iron skillet). The recipe is for a massive batch but if you just divide it by 4 you'll get enough for 4 servings.
I have a great recipe for Guinness chocolate cake and a few other favorites as well if you're interested.

It's difficult to define "American food" since we are used to eating food from all of the different cultures which make up our country. There are a few things that are specific to the U.S., however, such as Macaroni and Cheese, Chicken-Fried Steak, and the Philly Cheesesteak.

My personal favorite ^^
(all images from googling)

From Indonesia

  1. Pempek: something like fish cake, with addicting spicy soup <3
  2. Soto: soup with rich spice <3
  3. Tempe: made from soybean, usually fried, really good plain or with sambal (chili sauce) <3

so hungry looking at this thread ><

I don't know if you will be able to replicate this dish outside Brazil, but feijoada is so good! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feijoada

It's not a true brazilian feijoada without couve, farofa and torresmo btw. Lots of work but totally worth it. :)

I love the simple things, so here is my recommendation - Patatnik- easy to prepare, but I guarantee very tasty. :)
And here is a video about how to prepare it yourself. Enjoy :)
