I could come up with a more elaborate or interesting dish but my stomach would never forgive me if I lied about what it loves most.

A big milanesa with french fries and a good cold beer. In Argentina it would be: Una buena mila con papas y una cerveza bien fria.

Tater tot casserole. It's a dish we in my family make all the time (minus the onions and milk, and with a lot more shredded cheese on top), its a very quick and easy dish that can feed a family of six (provided you don't eat the whole thing yourself, which sadly I have done before). And I learned recently that it's actually the official state dish of Minnesota. So how a bunch of Texans ended up learning about it, idk.

Speaking of Texas, pecan pie. Pecans are already kinda buttery-sweet on their own, so obviously you gotta mix them syrup and brown sugar and put it on a pie crust. That makes them even better! And if you can make it with pecans fresh off the tree, hoo baby.

Yep. All over the frozen foods sections around here. It's also possible to make your own, which takes a bit more time and I've never done it before, but that IS an option.

I'm gonna camp out on this thread until I have achieved the status of culinary hokage. :D My favorite Greek dish is moussaka -- it's a sort of casserole with eggplants, potatoes and ground meat. I'm also partial to youvarlakia, a traditional meatball soup.

Look at all. This. Food. Yummmm.
I'm from the US but I'll give you a great snack from my mom's home country-not-country because it's actually not a country, Hong Kong: Boot zai gou
The molds used for this are typically bowls, hence the shape. Also, it's a pudding.

I am from the Netherlands, so here are some typical Dutch foods:
Stroopwafels are delicious cookies, basically syrup or caramel between soft wafers. Everybody we've met abroad, that we shared these with or already knew them, absolutely loved them. You can buy these, even outside The Netherlands, or you can make them.
And for dinner, I really like hutspot, which is mashed potato, carrots and onions, and sometimes pieces of bacon through it. Usually served with gravy and meatball or "rookworst"(smoked sausage, included in the picture) For a change, use sweet potatoes instead of about 1/4th of the potatoes, and serve with chopped cashew nuts. Makes for an even tastier tasty change.

Enjoy!

Edit: I've looked for, and included an English Recipe for hutspot, which is apparently called hotchpotch. hutspot (hotchpotch) recipe

Who doesn't love pizza? Here's a post I made on SG almost 2 years ago of the NY style pizza I make (with pictures). I haven't made pizza in a couple months, but I just happen to make some dough last night and I will be making two today in a couple hours from now, can't wait :)

https://www.steamgifts.com/discussion/ZiEEM/homemade-pizza-giveaway-now-included/search?page=4#hgRgRZv

Edit: Unfortunately my power went out for almost 4 hours today and that is one of the downsides of having an electric oven. I wasn't able to make the pizza today, but the dough can wait in the fridge until tomorrow, it will taste better anyway :)

Thanks for the WL :)
I'm half Italian as well. Both of my dads parents came to the US from Sicily. I grew up in NY about an hour north of NYC and was raised on great NY style pizza and bagels. I had to look up sfincione and I agree a nice thick sicilian pizza is great as well. The last picture in the link above was my first attempt at a sicilian. It didn't come out perfect with the sauce, cheese and dough proportions, but the dough came out good and it still tasted awesome. I started making pizza because I left NY and it's hard to find good pizza throughout most of the rest of the US.

I'm going to recommend you the raclette. Simple dish that u can prepare immediately, and will keep you full for a very long time.
I recommend you to have a few variety of cheese - the more you have the better .(my personal favourite is beaufort) You can also use goat/sheep milk cheese for it if you are feeling adventurous.
