Looking at my past entries, the lowest chance I've had to win a specific giveaway was around 0.03%. This means that there are around 3,000 people hoping to win. The chance to win here is 1 in 3000.

If you enter every giveaway you are eligible for, without caring what the game is, I would estimate your win chance at 0.1 on average. This is a win chance of 1 in 1000. You can start anticipating a win when you reach 1000 entries.

You can increase your odds of winning if you only enter giveaways where there are very few other people entering. You can also only enter giveaways with multiple copies being given out. There are giveaways where only people who have given away games on this site are allowed to enter. There are also private group giveaways, hidden giveaways (check the forums), and invite-only giveaways.

I won my first game around 750 entries. It was for a giveaway where not many people entered, but my chance to win that giveaway was still very low. There were only 573 entries, so my win chance was around 0.17%.

The last time I entered a giveaway for Skyrim, 6380 people entered. AAA titles will have the lowest chance to win, because everyone wants them. Everyone enters giveaways for the biggest games. My chance to win Skyrim from this giveaway was 0.015%. This is lower than 1/10 of my win chance for the game I won, which was Trine.

I enter giveaways for games I want to play. Looking at my past entries, I would say that I am far ahead of my expected win ratio.

Also, giveaways created will have no effect on expected win ratio.
