Are you sure you hadn't used those keys already? There have been multiple times users were sure they revealed a key a long time ago but Fanatical's unrevealed thing might be... not correct at times.
I'm not sure if Fanatical assigns you keys right when you buy it or only when you reveal it. Humblebundle doesn't assign keys until reveal so key is fresh on reveal, not sure about Fanatical.

Damn it, I was so happy when I found couple unredeemed bundles when they introduced the library. But now they can just be fake news?
Of course the games in those bundles are often from scammy devs stealing TVs from poor innocent victims who paid almost a fraction of a cent for the "game" so nothing of real value is lost unless you want to give them away here.

+1, This sounds pretty outrageous and dumb. I doubt they would do this.
If they sell your key for some reason, they need to note it on your account and provide you with a new key when you reveal it. What if they sell the key to someone else and then you reveal and activate it before the new buyer does and then the new buyers get a used key. If this is true, I will start revealing all my Fanatical keys as soon as I buy them just like I do with Humble. Humble doesn't allocate you a key until you reveal it and if they run out of keys for some reason, you won't get one.

Fanatical TOS
Chapter 10
Please ensure that you access and redeem all your purchased serial keys as soon as possible after purchase. To avoid unnecessary strain on our e-commerce systems, we reserve the right to clear all purchased serial keys, revoke any eBook/Comic download links and revoke the ability to activate any keylessly delivered content from our e-commerce platform after 180 days of their purchase, regardless of whether the affected content has been revealed, downloaded or redeemed by you.

Well i dont care what they do with the key i bought. If they resell or just dropped it from my account or whatever.
The thing is I couldn't activate it for me.
And in the TOS they clearly say after 180 days of purchase they may
revoke the ability to activate any keylessly delivered content
So why did i misinterpret that?
My orginal question was why I couldnt activate, not what they do with my key
I updated my original post to be clear

You can write about it here then:

and doesn't hurt to mail fanatical too for replacements, at least trying

So I just hit the issue.
The giveaway was "The Silent Age" from Dollar Rage bundle from 2017.
The answer from the support was
We'd recommend you activate keys sooner rather than later, because the longer that elapses after an order is delivered the less likely we are to be able to help on the rare occasion that issues do arise.
Unfortunately we no longer hold new keys for "The Silent Age", so we can't now replace the "The Silent Age" key delivered in 2017 with a new one.
So they did resell my key...

Probably not your case - but I had weird situation on HB. I checked old bundle that I was sure that I redeemed half of it already and it shows all keys as unrevealed. When I revealed one of them and tried to activate it - it told me that it was used..
But then I refreshed page and half of games suddenly were already revealed.
Checked it later and apparently it was me who revealed them xD
Idk what was that. Something with cookies? Anyway - it happens now and then. So I make sure to refresh page before revealing old key xD

I had bought an indie game key from Fanatical, maybe 6 months ago, to gift on Steamgifts. The key turned out to be used (very, very unusual as Fanatical are reputable). I assumed that I had gifted it maybe, and been sloppy with my record keeping. I told the winner I would buy another (key was not that expensive) and gave it to my winner. Second key was also showing as used. My winner was being patient - I told him I would contact Fanatical. End result is Fanatical pulled the game from their sale listings and refunded my last purchase of that key. So ... I assume the dev did the wrong thing and inactivated some older keys (or reused them).
So any owners of keys for that particular game who have not yet activated them (if bought from Fanatical) will find they will not work. Game in question was Across the Moment.
One of the things I do if gifting from a bundle is check the Steamgifts page relating to that bundle. You will often find that other buyers will note if there are issues with keys. I currently now try to have keys no older than about 3 months. Avoids issues if gifting.

Yeah, I guess you have to get lucky who handles your ticket :(
I've had it happen as well that they refused. So seems to be no clear uniform response to these requests.
So just try it each time a key is not working would be my advice. (except for Humble Bundle).

This happened to me once, but i was the one that won the giveaway and the key was activated already, i contacted with the creator and he said me that the key was from Fanatical and i was the one that wanted an extra copy of the game. At the end of the day 1 week later he didn´t gave me a replacement so i had to buy a copy myself to mark the giveaway as received.

Hello everyone,
I have several bundles with unrevealed steam keys. I was about to create a train with them, since I have some of them already in my library.
As I looked through them, I found one keys that I wanted to activate for myself. So I revealed a key, tried to activate it but it told me the key has already been activated. Reading the TOS of the bundlesite (fantical) it says its possible that they
resell keysrevoke the ability to activate keys if not activated duringa year or so180 days.So here's my question: What to do with them? Can I create giveaways, with a description that they might be already activated? Or is te last chance to just throw them into the key-dump thread?
