My laptop has a 2nd gen i3 with no dedicated graphics chip and 4GB RAM. At least it can run CS:GO at a playable, but still shitty quality.

I used to game on a Sony Vaio Potato( VGN-FW55GF ). Intel Core 2 Duo P8700 2.53GHz, 4GB RAM, Mobilty Radeon HD4650. It ran most games pretty terrible. Any where from 10-15 fps to 30-40fps, if I was lucky. Now I'm rocking a custom set-up. i74790k, RoG Ranger, G.Skill Trident 16GB 2400, MSI 970 2-Way SLI. I still have ye olde faithful potato.

Mine is a Lenovo E531, which has a

  • Intel Core i5 3230M
  • 4 GB of RAM
  • Intel Graphics 4000

It's a business laptop, which means it great in every single aspect, except gaming.

Modern Warfare 2 - lowest settings - 40 FPS

Call of Duty 4 - lowest settings - 60 FPS (limited due to screen refresh rate)

Grand Theft Auto 4 - lowest settings - 10 FPS (shitty port)

Borderlands - medium settings - 12 FPS; lowest settings - 20 FPS

I have to keep with laptop for about another 4 years; but I see that it really isn't that bad compared to most people's on here.

I've never liked laptops and probably never will buy one.I'm used to desktop pc and recently i got interested in android devices. My pc is custom "these alienware pcs are the biggst scam ever".Mine is considered Medium end pc but it manages to run any new game on high-ultra settings with FXAA (For some reason it could run that glitchy AC:unity on Maximum graphics,1080p with FXAA @25-40 fps which is a great achievement). My specs: Gtx 660 3gb OC (Thinking about upgrading to 960),8GB ramd DDR3,I5-4440 (Great performance & cheap price).

If you upgrade that card, get 970. A lot better price/performance ratio. Currently the only worthwhile nVidia card on the entire market.
Or wait for the DX12 cards at the end of this year. DX12 is forming up to be a great revolution and an insane increase in 3D performance for compliant cards.

A Vaio with an AMD E-350 apu with Radon HD6310 (384MB, lol, but enough to play some games), 4GB and 500GB HDD... Quite satisfied it lasted strong for nearly 5 years, but it's time to move along and leave my good ol' friend to a deserved vacation. :)

CS:GO in 20FPS ftw! :D

Mines OK, as it runs the games I play fairly well. However, I need to have a USB fan next to it as it overheats often :/

My laptop is 6 years old now and what can I say? Games like SR 4 for example run, yet it's extremely laggy and the lag actually generally increased currently. I guess I will have to get a PC eventually. I'm planning to, yet I just don't want to spend that much money on a PC >_<
