Haha, I love japanese.....wareware wa
oh and the Square Enix video they are showing is sooo old xD

And Blizzard came to say that their Diablo 3 crap is going to be even more crappy on PS3 and PS4, oh yeah xD

Well to be fair it was the console announcement. It was quite good, not sure why people are acting like this was supposed to be E3.
Hell this was better than last years E3 imo.

the developer aspect is what I am most interested in - it's a GOOD thing that it's designed with the developers in mind
the things the programmers and artists CAN do has been way ahead of the technology their stuff has to run on for years - all good news if you ask me - listening to the folks that are making the software that runs on what you're designing is a damn good idea

The trailers were a bit painful to watch graphically. Pretty much everything I saw could have been done to some degree on the PS3 (other than the fact that it would have had a limited color palette if it was).
I knew it wouldn't be a real leap based on the rumored specs, but the step "up" seemed almost non-existant.

This is exactly my thought after watching (only) the first hour of the show, I think this is going the be the first time that new consoles are already outdated hardware-wise at the date of release compared to mid-range desktops.
I really expected something more spectacular than what i just saw.
Comment has been collapsed.
Weren't PS3/360 pretty close to already being outdated when they came out?
The thing that many PC gamers forget is that, this info isn't relevant to console gaming because most console owners don't know/don't care about PC gaming.
Comment has been collapsed.
They where, but back then it was still quite expensive to build/buy a desktop with specs comparable to the ps3 so either way you would pay close to 1000 euros (over here that is) while now with all the new hardware being released all the times prices really drop fast so you should be able to build a desktop with the same specs for roughly 400 euros i.m.o

Good god, get some glasses. This is far beyond anything Xbox 360 and PS3 can do. And these are pretty much launch titles.
Comment has been collapsed.
wut? This is much closer to PC than PS3 is. Dunno wtf are talking about. I mean, if you prefer pc, then you can easily see that this graphics are simply not possible in a PS3.
Comment has been collapsed.
I'm simply stating that I don't feel that it's that much of an improvement from the PS3 after seeing the game footage shown. If other people do, I have no problem with that, but this conference made me lose virtually all interest I had for a PS4.
Comment has been collapsed.
I think a lot of naysayers are simply balking at the overall appearance of the graphics without realizing that the true demonstration was the high number of moving objects coupled with high definition textures and other effects that can't be done on the current systems, all without slowdown, tearing, etc. The current systems just wouldn't be able to handle it. If all you're looking for is "gee whiz pretty colors" without paying any attention to the more technical things going on, then you can be excused for thinking this wasn't a leap.

It shouldn't mean that. Sony still doesn't get that portable console is not home console, and needs a bit different games than it. I hope they'll understand this soon. PSP isn't a bad console, but there were plenty of games that would've just worked better on a home console. Vita is a good console, but Sony is still wasting it's potential.

So, nothing really interesting except WatchDogs and The Witness.
Racing game looked pretty nice too.
Killzone and inFamous are not interesting for me.
Destiny is another FPS. Nothing new, running, aiming and shooting. Like always. Boring.
Capcom's game looks pretty solid. It may be a great title.
Square Enix presented the engine they showed us few months ago. And told us to wait for new FF. Great marketing, I must admit.
3D modeling looked nice and interesting. The music section was strange. I have no idea what it was.
WatchDogs made me go "Whoa, I must play this". So yeah, I'm pretty excited for this one. Something new and fresh. Thank you Ubisoft.
Diablo III for PS3. Split-screen sounds nice, but overally it should be ported year ago.
The idea of game downloading before you buy it is stupid as hell. What if it'll download a game you won't actually buy? It'll only eat up your internet transfer. Stupidity. Same goes for "help me beat that part". I wonder who will use this function, 6 years old kids?
Overally, it was not bad, at least it has good, new games announced already. Unlike Vita. Conference had few really boring moments. 6/10
Now we are waiting for M$ to make their move. Personally I hope Xbox will die in this generation and M$ will give up on console gaming, I never liked them. Don't hate on me.

I imagine/hope there will be a way to turn it off.

I don't get what they were thinking with this. I think it might be used with a lot of casuals. Right when it was announced all I could think of is the "GAYMER GURRLLL" streamers letting people play for them, why they talked. lol
I'm so curious about how it works though... will there be a time limit or something? Could I ask my friend to let me play his game while he does something else? It just seemed like a bad idea...

I like you. I hate M$ as well. Feel like they haven't contributed anything to gaming at all...
Comment has been collapsed.
Brofist. It really feels like M$ didn't do much for console gaming. And they didn't have many good exclusives on their console. I don't want them to make more Kinect games. I wonder, why do even people bother buying Kinect. It's bad. Not as bad as Powerglove, but it's so bad.
About the "Help me beat that part" function. It'll probably work on Gaikai, but I think they'll give some kind of time limit. Or make checkpoints in every game, so that after you get to checkpoint, it gives the control back to player. Something like "die 10 times before asking friend for help in this part" is only logical too.
Comment has been collapsed.
This. So much of this. I always bring my kinect to parties.
Comment has been collapsed.
I think even with Playstation they would do much better games, I hate Microsoft for doing that with Rare.
Comment has been collapsed.
Here's the problem. Kinect is great, but it's not used for games at all. I mean, there are party games etc, but no good title for "hardcore gamers"(I hate this phrase) that would use it well, or be based only on it. That's because Kinect is only an add-on for X360. It'd be risky to make expensive game just for Kinect, which is pretty expensive, and not all X360 owners have. There was hope with Steel Battalion, but it was disappointment after all(I'd love to play the first one though, but getting this controller just for one game...). Nintendo at least knows how to use the technologies they create for their consoles. Microsoft created Kinect, but wasn't really sure how they want to use it.

well I like their gamepad design best. Never understood why people prefer to bend their thumbs down constantly to reach the left analog stick on the ps design. The placement there is actually due to the analog sticks being an afterthought (or rather copying from N64 gamepad), not because it's actually the best placement. That's where M$ could start fresh with an ergonomic design.
Input accessories is an area M$ actually is (or was last decade) quite good at, including gamepad/joysticks/keyboard/mouse and so on.
(disclaimer: I have no current consoles and as such root for none of them at all)
Comment has been collapsed.
It's just fanboyism. That left analog stick is ONLY their on playstation because they just wanted to simply add the sticks without a redesign.
Only problem I have with Xbox360 controller is I wish the triggers had a solid "stop" area like on a gamecube controller. so i can FEEL that its pushed down as far as it can go... and bad d-pad

The showcase was epic, cannot wait for the ps4 so many good games and developers mentioned.. bit disappointed they didn't show the console but the controller looked pretty sweet :)
Comment has been collapsed.
The console itself will be show at E3. They gotta save it for some hype. ;p
Comment has been collapsed.
I think they showed what us gamers really need to know. first the controller ,Specs ,glimpses of The OS and most importantly GAMES.
It does not matter if the console looks like a potato .. you mostly have less engagement with it
and I think they want people to be exited to their E3 conference ..and build some hype

Gonna wait for E3 myself, gotta see what else they got. ;P

Give it an hour or so. Someone will upload it.
Though if you just want to see the games, it might be easier just watching all the trailers when they pop up. :p

Don’t buy into hype. If a feature sounds good, don’t just buy it because of that. Most new features have bugs and don’t work as well as they’re hyped up to.
A system is a system, it doesn’t matter the brand, specs or price. What matters above all else is the games. Don’t fall into the branding.
Think before you invest any amount of money into anything. If you’re spending 400-600$ on something that has only one thing you want, find something else you want for less that will hold you over until more reasons to buy come along. -Very rarely- is it worth it to be an early buyer, and often times it’s better to be a late buyer, as was the case of the last generation. Early PS3′s YLOD’d, Early 360′s RROD’d, and the early PSP had a RAM upgrade. Don’t buy until you’re sure.

Well. I wasn't impressed at all. Looks like my only goal for this year in gaming will be the Oculus Rift

A pc with the same capabilities will cost at least double PS4 will cost.
Comment has been collapsed.
No need. Thats just plain bullshit. Nothing more than that. Saying otherwise is ignorance.
Comment has been collapsed.
True a PC with similar spec would cost 750 minimum
Comment has been collapsed.
hahaha, not only you both magically know how much the ps4 will cost, you also seem to have no clue what will be inside it.
Both Sony and M$ will use entry-level tablet components. It's going to be an AMD A-10 CPU costing around 100 bucks. And yes GPU is already included there. Add some cheap mainboard, ram and PSU and you have your x-play-box-station-7204.
Only reason it may cost (slightly) less, is quantity discount and/or selling at a loss.
Comment has been collapsed.
Closed systems have better performance with the same parts. Just saying. You cannot build a pc with the same specs as PS4 and have a similar performance. Not even close.
Comment has been collapsed.
Probably, but at least now I don't feel like I need to upgrade my PC to stand ok with the ports that will come eventually.

Any chance the PS4 will run Linux like the early PS3s. The Cell processor with Linux is better than PS4, 2 teraflops vs 1.84 teraflops
Comment has been collapsed.
PS4 should of had quad core Cell instead of an 8 core AMD. A quad core Cell could probably compute 8 teraflops. Since the Cell could run linux they should of made the steambox together with valve. The only thing that would of matched the quad core cell would be an 8 core intel.
Comment has been collapsed.
you bunch too much unrelated stuff together.. AMD CPUs can also run Linux. Why would either Sony or Valve give up their own platform for such a jointventure? And what is a quad-core Cell going to make better? Doesn't the Cell already have 7 "cores" (I know it's not the right term here..)
The Cell was abandoned rightfully so, because it's a pain in the a** to make games for it. That's the reason that, despite it's high raw-power, games often run better on the xbox...

x86 is what PC uses now, Xbox will likely go with it too. One of the most mature architectures in terms of compilers. It's not perfect but it gets job done and it's very well know. At this point only other option would have been ARM, but they aren't there yet in terms of power for this type of hardware... Other architectures are pretty much dead...

This is actually good for PS3 gamers because it will mean all multiplatforms games should be stronger. ;D
I'm hyped, Sony always does lots of new IPs every gen, so it should be very interesting. Also anyone else gonna watch the stream?
UPDATE: PS4 was announced, was pretty good meeting.
