What do you felt when you played Half Life 2 for the first time?

I was wowed, because hard as it may be for you young fella's to believe, when it came out it was the most stunning game I'd ever seen... The visual quality, and how detailed and expressive the characters were was phenomenal... The shooting was tight, the set pieces were impressive... But back then the one thing that didn't wow me... And still doesn't.. Was that the story was really kinda weak... The bulk of it is "hey Gordon, go there..." Then when you get there, "oh, they're attacking... Go over there"... Then when you get there, "oh, so you're freeman! Great to meet you, they said you'd be coming through, so here's some supplies, now go over there...". I basically felt the game had no real plot until the prison.

BUT the atmosphere was tight, and it still stacks up as a hell of a fun experience...

"Not as good as HL1".

HL1 had an awesome introduction, which really built the tension well, and then the gameplay far exceeded that. Half-Life 2 was...lackluster. Pretty, good story, good characters, but just not as interesting as the first game.

Ripped off and wanting someone elses money back.

Didn't like it. Probably due to it inducing motion sickness as well but pretty much uninstalled it rather quickly.

have all hl and hl2 and barely played the series at all for now (don't even know the story) :o

I felt very frustrated because I was trying to run it on this and it crashed very often.

Why these weapons are so bad and why is it one corridor...

I was in awe for the first time I played it many many years ago. So many great memories from the first game and I couldn't wait for the great story to unfold. Still one of the best games ever made. But these days I can't play the game anymore because it feels so aged, and the story doesn't have a grip on me anymore like it used to. Maybe it's the years of waiting? I've overplayed also.

Dizzy, dizzy as hell

I played it too late, so it was like "man this game sure has been copied a lot; now I know what they were all copying." But even though I knew, intellectually, that the other games I'd played were copying it, that didn't change the fact that I'd seen it all before.

In hindsight, after playing both episodes and considering them all as part of the same game, "this is one of the best games I've ever played... ever."

i was like "wow... look at those faces... THEY HAVE EXPRESSIONS!"

did not care for it to much mostly the car and boat parts was kinda long best part of that game for me was ravenholm

Since I don't give a damn about graphics I was 100% ok with them. It felt as the smoothest storyline ever, I had the time of my life playing it, I loved it sooooo much. I didn't have ANY spoilers, in fact, I barely knew much about it except for HeadCrabs, lol. But seriously tho, LOVED IT SO MUCH. I gotta say, 9001/10, definetly one of my favorite games if not most favorite game of all time.
