Wow, just wow, that's just too fucked up for me to come up with a witty reply, get out of here and find a hobby.

i entered my group when it started out and it is awesome :D. Most other groups have annoying rules which i can't or won't abide to so i stick to my one group for now.
TL;DR i joined a group when the group was new.

"the thing is that i'm really pissed that you theoretically have to earn some random guy's trust so you can join his giveaway group"
lol. let me highlight that for you
"the thing is that i'm really pissed that you theoretically have to earn some random guy's trust so you can join HIS group"
now to answer your question...exactly how you'd do it irl, just hang out and talk to people. eventually they get to recognize you and possibly like you and maybe you get an invite. derp
those groups are generally more about a place to talk to those people you like than giveaways anyway

" theoretically have to earn some random guy's trust so you can join his giveaway group"
My automatic reaction was to look at your profile to see if you meet the requirements for my group. Sadely you do not. If you did however, I may have invited you and then you and I might of became friends :D Hope this helps.
Ps: You can't make friends with Salad

I doubt that. I don't think that this guy wants to become friends with anyone, but rather he's complaining that it's too hard to leech off of this community if you don't care about anyone but yourself.
@Gabzilla: Did I get that right?

So its NOT about making friends!!! Its about winning my games!!!

Hang around in sg chat or a group chat sometime, you might like it. You might even get to know a few people and they might get to know you. That could eventually get you into a few groups where you're having fun. On top of that, there's a chance you might get into group giveaways with better odds, but there' no guarantee.
If you hate people and they hate you back, just enter public giveaways and ignore social conventions, like striving to be likeable or even just getting along. It's clearly a lot of work.

Well not BOTH nudes AND free games, I'm fine with either.

Damn it, where's cg when you need him? I want to make a giveaway for Nudes.

Generally, people tend to have an 'online personality'. Now, this may be drastically different than who that person is in real life, but there is normally some consistency to the way said person behaves online. I know people in real life who are exactly the same online and share everything, and I know people who create a personality to use online. While someone can't tell for sure you would behave the same way offline, if you post to the forums, show up in chat, make giveaways, and so on, then you establish a pattern of behavior. Some group owners look for rather specific patterns of behaviors, and some are more relaxed.

I understand what you're trying to say. But sounds like you've had bad experiences of people. Personally I just ignore the whole group aspect of the site since filling some rules or requirements in a group sounds extremely stressful to me and I couldn't really make friends even if I wanted to.

"the thing is that i'm really pissed that you theoretically have to earn some random guy's trust so you can join his giveaway group, and i think that's a total nonsense because i bet that none of the guys in that group are actually his friends...they're just some other guys that make giveaways and pretend they care about the group"
Why are you pissed? You don't HAVE to earn his trust, you don't HAVE to enter his private giveaway group. Why have you read that kind of description? were you actively looking for groups to request an invite? If that's the case, then that description was there for the right reason, to discourage you from requesting an invite.
Your complaint is almost like seeing someone make gifts to his friends, then publicly complaining that you're not getting any.
If instead you're just wondering why that kind of description exists, without any other reason apart from you curiosity, then once again: why are you pissed?

I;m pissed because, just like you said, some dude is making a gift to his "friend" and then he comes to me(i know i entered the group page but that's similar to just walking on the street) and shouts to me:"SEE WHAT I GOT MY FRIEND? YOU'LL NEVER GET IT BECAUSE YOU'RE NOT MY FRIEND"...isn't it normal for me to just say Fu*k off to him?

"i know i entered the group page but that's similar to just walking on the street"
No, it's like entering a private Club with the Rules written on the door; the first one is saying "If you're not my friend, you can't enter the Club". Try to go to a bouncer in a private club, tell him to Fuck off because he's not allowing you to enter, then get back here so we can count your bruises (or broken ribs) together.

I'm pretty sure that's the comment that got you suspended. We tend to be more polite to each other around these parts. Well, not really, we just don't wish each other dead, that's all.

You are only making tour position worse: you've just said you want to fight tour way vinto the club, thus making sure that you won't get vinto this one for the foreseeable future. You'll ne marked as a troublemaker and denied entrance in any club that has a connection with the first one. You know, this analogy is getting more accurate with every post...

then according to you, how long it should take to allow a person to making trouble ?

"This isn't a social network...you never know who's in front of that screen so...how can you trust somebody in here?"
you're saying that you can trust anyone who is on a social network to be legit? if anything there is more room to have your trust misplaced on a social network site since there is an expectation that everyone is on the level. at least on sites like these everyone is on the even footing because you know everyone is anonymous.
@your edit: I can't even begin to tell you how differently you and I (and a lot of other people, the people who are taking issue with) are. I don't know where to begin, but let me say that I've played EverQuest and WoW for a combined eight or nine years and will say if it's your cup of tea, making friends online is (or can become) a very easy thing to do. yes there is potential that some people aren't who they say they are, but very few do so maliciously and it's easy to tell which people are honest and which aren't after time. for the most part though, most people aren't trying to be anything they aren't.
also, making friends isn't all about gaining trust, necessarily. you don't have to become someone's confidante to be considered a friend, just have to be some one willing to chat, co-op, etc.

you know, for making this thread you had been reduce the chance to get invite into a group .....a lot. For your own good, i advice you should close this, and hope that everyone forget about it a few month later

How exactly do people get to become friends on steamgifts...because i have checked a lot of groups that had posted in the description things like: "Don't bother asking for an invite...i only invite people i know or friends from SG" and things like that. That made me really curious because i personally only use this website to enter the giveaways and the forum for when i need an explanation, not to make friends. This isn't a social network...you never know who's in front of that screen so...how can you trust somebody in here?
GREATEST EDIT: You people don't get it...i'm not asking how to make friends...i have plenty...thanks anyway...the thing is that i'm really pissed that you theoretically have to earn some random guy's trust so you can join his giveaway group, and i think that's a total nonsense because i bet that none of the guys in that group are actually his friends...they're just some other guys that make giveaways and pretend they care about the group.
