Magicka help please!

I traded someone for a Magicka code and it worked, but when I try and buy DLC it says I don't own the game... Any idea why this is? Any help would be appreciated.

EDIT: I got it guys... I just had to start it up and shut it down twice and it decided to recognize my game... thanks a bunch for your guys help.

It is the free weekend game, so there is a chance you could have been tricked into thinking that's what you were receiving.

If you go to https://store.steampowered.com/account/ what is the very top entry?

Try deleting your clientregistry.blob (while steam is closed) then start up steam again

Edit: it'd be somewhere here

Try buying the dlc as a gift and keep it in your inventory until the free weekend is over.
