The key from this bundle activates: https://steamdb.info/sub/7851/
Both items are literally the game BEEP, but if you go to the Depots page of sub/7851/ you'll see that it contains an extra depot (BEEP Depot New) compared to sub/7851/. This is why you were able to activate it on top of sub/7851/.
The depot is not visible in your library and doesn't add anything new (think of it as a configuration item) but: as long as a package contains items that you don't own (be they games / dlcs, depots), it will activate on top of what you currently own.
