$100 should do it for me. You could just create a spreadsheet like I have to keep track of your Wants/Purchases,
and add estimated discounts.

$50 is usually fine, and $100 is plenty.

There is never enough! Nobody is safe! Many will perish with the first day, with many more to follow within the week. All will die. The end times are coming!

...

Wait, what were we talking about?

You'll be okay, I'm only going to buy 1 game so yeah... if I can survive with that.

That should be more than enough. And don't make the same mistake I did by adding games directly to your library. Add all your games to your inventory because you might change your mind later.

You wouldn't die, if you already had food.

  1. Look at forums
  2. See that Summer Sale has started
  3. Don't turn on Steam for a week
  4. ???
  5. Profit.

I've got 25 bucks from trading cards, and I'm planning on making that last. Plan out what you want beforehand (For example, I'm hoping the Sonic franchise pack goes at least half off) and then put aside just another couple bucks in case there are huge sales you can't pass up (my leftover five bucks is going towards any DLC for games I've missed that goes 75 or more percent off)

Depends on how many games you're going to buy.

100$ could suffice for the summer sale, but Steam is turning 10 this November, so you better use the money to invest in a nice tombstone for your wallet.. its gonna be the sale to end all sales!

That's enough. I'm pretty broke.. I usually spend $30-$40 and come out with a bunch of good stuff gone cheap :)

Just remember the number 1 rule of Steam sales, NEVER buy a game that isnt on the daily deal until the last day.
Rule 2 is that usually many if not all the best daily deals will come back the last day as well.

No amount is enough unless you are Gaben who can get them games for free.

I got a little crazy in my first summer sale (last year) and spent $300+ on 100+ games. Didn't buy anything for winter sale though because there was nothing that caught my interest.

Now I have a huge backlog, I don't even know the names of most of my games. Thankfully, I'm not really that interested in any games atm so I hope I can limit my impulse buying and keep it low xD

I'm limiting myself to around $120, we'll see what happens.
