Perhaps you could post a picture of them if you wanted? I always enjoy seeing pictures of the pets of members of SG.:)

Poor cat... I couldn't even imagine something like this happening to my own cat!
Stay strong man, you did a very good deed!

Nothing wrong with brohugs!:)

Aww, I feel for you!
A cat that is ran over by traffic is a real sad thing, it is such a waste of beautiful creature!
I always thought I was a dog person, I grew up with dogs!
But I think I am more a cat person, they are truelly amazing animals!
Hope you and the owners of the cat will have fond memories to treasure.
It is a sucky thing to say: but time heals!
But for now hugs is what you need!

I've always had a feeling that you were a cat person.;)
Thank you for the huggles! I love 'em!:)

Sending virtual hugs, despite how little that helps right now :( Anyone who likes animals knows that the attachment we develop with pets (even if not on our own care) is the same as with any human friend.
I'd also like to add that what you did, taking care of Audrey and dealing with a difficult situation to lessen the impact on Audrey's family (as much as could be done), was very noble.

Thank you. And the hugs I have received here, as well as the wonderful pictures, have helped. I appreciate every single one of them.:)

hugs and hugs from the bunnies. Sorry to hear that.
There is a very friendly cat here too. I dunno her name so I call her corner kitty. (in Dutch, poes van de hoek) Because she lives in the house on the corner.
And every time I see and call her she comes rubbing up against my leg, asking to get pet. It's cute.
Take care...

Thank you. Those are very pretty bunnies!:)
There are some wild bunnies that I see from time to time on the front yard of my parent's house. They seem to love the clovers that grow there! I really like bunnies too!:)

Holland Lops. I like that name. Thank you.:)

Thank you.:) Her name was Nizzie. She was a rescue dog from Alabama that my parents had adopted.:)

That's a very nice gesture. It's a shame there are pets that actually need to be rescued. In general because of stupid people. It's nice to see there are new owners willing to adopt and take care of them.
My bunnies names are Knijntje and Browny.

Knijntje and Browny. Very nice names indeed!:)
My parents were quite sad to have a quiet house since Nizzie passed away last November, so they are going to adopt a puppy! Her name is Zoey and she would not be about a month old. I have some pictures of her on my Steam Profile if you want to take a boo at them (I will be posting recent ones soon).

She is a tad larger in the newer pictures, and her eyes are open now. There is one where she is yawning! So adorable!:)
She won't be fluffy. My parents will keep her trimmed.;) LOL!

She is a Bichon Friese (I hope I spelled that correctly). The previous two dogs were of the same breed. The first, Cuddles, was taller and had longer ears. Nizzie had shorter legs, and shorter ears. Zoey's mother has a similar look to Nizzie, so Zoey should be a shorter one as well.

I could bearly contain the happiness from that hug, my friend! Thank you.:)

Thank you very much.:) It's weird (or maybe it's not weird at all!) how attached we can get to animals sometimes. I'm glad for them, however. They help fill a void that we don't even know we had!

Sad to hear the tale for both you and the owner. May Audrey rest in cat heaven.

If anyone wanted to give out some hugs, I sure could use some right now.
The neighbour's cat (her name was Audrey) was hit by a car a couple of hours ago, and was killed. It feels like I've been punched in the stomach, as I really liked her even though she wasn't even mine! She was a super-friendly cat, and she even walked into my house once! I was talking with a friend that was on my front porch, and had my front door open a bit (it was around New Year's). My friend asked when I had gotten a cat, and I replied that I didn't know what he was talking about! I looked behind me, and sure enough she was strolling around my living room! I picked her up gently, and brought her back outside (she was both an indoors and outdoors cat).
I did the best I could with her remains, and washed the street as well. I didn't want their kids to see their pet like that.
I'm thinking back to Audrey grooming herself beside my Butterfly Bush about a 1/2 hour before it happened, and trying my best not to cry. Damn it! I loved that cat. :(
Rest In Peace, Audrey. I'll miss you, and the happiness you brought me when I saw you.:(
